Is there a HAIR REVOLUTION going on?

...and will we L(.)(.)K up next summer to see a sea of hair?
Are we imagining all of this or has the tide finally turned
away from the buzz cut?

The tide is definitely turning, LucksKind. According to "the industry" the buzz cuts, fades and other short styles have been tagged the "look of the 90"s". Hair that is longer and fuller is on its way back and definitely "in".

That really sucks if it's true. Acceptance is one thing, but being "in" is something totally different.
If it becomes "in", I may have to cut my hair then. Nothing I hate more than to look like all the rest of the sheep around me. If I start seeing yuppies growing out their hair, I'll puke......all over their poser locks. :-)
I totally agree

If someone has long hair it should be because of who they are, not because its "in" and they are following the trend.
uhhh..

Then...you are still going to cut your hair if it comes into fashion. If long hair is who you "are", why would you cut it? Just becuase a bunch of trendwhores have it, doesn't make it mean any less to you.
Yep

Anyone who will cut their hair to avoid a trend, is in fact influenced by trends.
My hair is long, has been long for a long time, and always will be long. I don't care about style, acceptance, fashion or anything else!
Long hair not a practical trend In Reply to: Yep posted by Rokker on August 07, 2002 at 13:04:21: Long hair represents a GREAT investment in time and does not compare with other trends. Trends generally pass too quickly to accomodate growing one's hair very long. If you grow your hair long and then it becomes "popular" then just wait a short while and it will change away from long hair...again. I have grown it long and watched hair trends vary by inches over the years, first one way and then the other but I still have mine and that is what is important to me.

besides... when all those johnny-come-lately 'posers' are struggling with the awkward stage we all will be at or near our target lengths... ahead of the game -as it were.

I must agree with whoever said that most men will
not want to be 'troubled' with caring for their hair.
....he..he....most probably prefer to wash and wear.

If these "Yuppies" you evidently hate (which is another and sad issue) started going about screaming, "We will not jump off cliffs, we will not jump off cliffs!" Would you jump off of one for the sake of being different from them? (no parachutes allowed, either!)
You people need to read more carefully.

I said I didn't want to look like all the sheep around me.
Translation:
I like looking different. THAT IS WHO "I" AM!
If you love to call yourself a "long-hair", then good for you. The hair doesn't mean everything to me like it seems to mean for some of you. I don't consider myself a "long-hair", I just have long hair. The hair doesn't define me; me being different does. And that's why I would cut it to be different from the majority sheep around me. Get it now?
So, some of you can get down off your high-horses.
BTW, I don't need your fucking pity!!!
Oh, and Nick, thanks bud! - for being the only one who seems to truly understand what I was trying to say.

We may see MORE hair and LONGER hair but I believe we will still represent the vast minority. Lots and lots of men will always favor the ease of care associated with shorter hair, a more [perceived] professional look, blah, blah. Myself, I would welcome a fashion trend back toward long hair. I'd just be very surprised to see anything close to what we saw in the 60's and 70's. Either way it's OK because it truly doesn't impact my being long haired.

Revolution or not, I'll grow it

Revlution or not, I'll continue to grow it. But I'd like to see just a little bit more people with long hair.
