i used to have wayne hair... heres how i did it:
1. wash
2. dry to damp
3. enough hair gel to make it stay fairly rigid, but you might want to hang your head upside down
4. blowdry until its dry
5. loads of hairspray
6. dry again
et voila.
used to take me about 15 minutes to get thruogh all that, but i only had the top long, back and sides were really short.
peace.
gelatin...

My friend used to have a mohawk which he would occasionally spike. The spikes at there longest were about 8 or nine inches. He said he would take a cup of hot water and mix in a packet of knox gelatin. Then he would work fast, and work it into his hair and style before it hardened. At the end of the day he just washed it out with a few shampooings. Gelatin gave him an extra strong hold, but he said you must work quickly.
Good luck
