To Hair Religion & Otto...

Thanks, guys, for both your points. But I don't want anyone becoming tense with one another over me. I appreciate Hair Religion's direct stearn point in saying that it is ultimately up to me, for that is a true statement. Long hair isn't for everyone, and that was the point he was making. I do know that him and I didn't exactly get off on the right foot with one another in the past, and all of that was my fault for wearing my feelings on my sleeve instead of letting others have their own opinions. I apologize to him now for wrongs I am responsible for in the past.
I also appreciate Otto's defense and the friendship he has shown towards me in this case. Hair Religion's stearness towards me may have been a product of our past differences, but that is perfectly O.K. if that were the case.
My contemplation of cutting my hair was actually a weak one. I'm not cutting for sure. It has taken me way too long to get to where I am so far. My bangs are closing in on my chin and that is the longest my hair has ever been in my life. It's just my hair is so thick and the back does that 50's female wave thing that gets on my nerves. I am currently thinking about getting a modest undercut, though, to eleviate that wave thing in the back. Not too sure I will do that, even. Thanks to all for the encouragement and direct stearn advise alike. Both make up an even balance in any case as far as I am concerned. All involved have been very helpful. Thanks again!
Thinning, undercutting at awkward stage

Some things to think about....
"Elevating" problems means they will recur 2X months down the road, where X equals the number of inches you "elevate" them. You're in for living in the perpetual awkward stage if you keep that up!
Thick hair is a plus once your hair gets longer. Thick hair is less prone to messiness from the wind, and it will make your mane look better when it reaches a longer length. You can't have thick hair "down there then" unless you are willing to have thick hair "up here now".
Your longest strands will grow from the lower neck - the part behind the ears. If you undercut those strands away, you will limit the ultimate length you can get, until you wait all the years it takes for those strands to grow out.
I see your point...

Thanks for the advise, bro. I decided about an hour ago that I am not going to even do the undercut. I will just keep going as planned from the start and grow to the goal, baby!!! PEACE!!!!!

Dude, just to reinforce...there is this girl in my class that has very thick hair and it is awesome. One length, off center part, a slight wave kinda like yours and just above mid-back. The style would also look great on a man. The point is that if hers were short, she would probably have the same issues you conveyed...so try to envision it at a longer length and not at it's transition length.
