Pony Tail?

I know everyone's hair grows differently, but does anyway have an idea of about how long it takes to be able to get your hair in a pony tail from a shaved head?

Next month, it will be a year that I shaved my head. I can almost get it into a tail. I'd say another 6 months; so a year and a half.

It depends on you're reason for wearing a tail-is it convenience or for style. I don't care much about what I cann't see behind me. My idea of a ponytail is physically restraining my hair. I've been growin my hair for a lil over 2 years now...I wear my hair tied in a pony at my neck now for convenience-it's more comfortable that way on hot days and at work I never have to worry about it bein outta place. I did find around 1 year (I think it was 10 months) that I was able to get most of my hair into a little ponytail located right above your skull bone in back of the head...same level as the top of your ears. Then I just slicked back all the hair with gel or water and it stayes that way. Putting water in a spray bottle helps. Don't brush it once you've slicked it back with your hands.
Hope this helps!

Yeah, that does help. I'm just curious what I can expect as far as how long it will take me to be able to put my hair in a pony tail. My last haircut was around the middle of July of this year, but it doesn't seem like my hair got too long since then. My hair was shaved to a #1 on the sides and about 3/4 of an inch on top. I was hoping my hair would be long enough to put in a pony tail by next summer since I'll need to start looking for a summer job and thought my hair would look more conservative if it was up.
don't cut it-not even a trim

You should be able to get most of it in a ponytail by then-it'll be a small tail, but it'll look more conservative/clean. Just take good care of it and you won't have split ends to trim up. Cutting it is like walking backwards if you have somewhere to go in front of u. Stay away from hair dryers, curling irons, perms..... Check out Bill's site for good hair care tips.

Thanks, I hope you're right! I've been trying to take good care of it, but it just seems like it's hardly growing at all.
