Question about rubber bands

I bought a pack of rubber bands (250 to be exact) today. The brand is Super Stretch "Soft & Springy". On the package it reads "Will NOT Break Your Hair". How true can this claim be? Anybody have good experiences with rubber bands, where they haven't damaged your hair? (BTW, what a rush to tie my hair back today for the first time ever!)

Well who knows, but why risk it? A pack of good hair ties doesn't cost much so why not be safe and just go with that? Goody "ouchless" ties seem good, they say "hair hoisery" by Scunci are good too but I dont know b/c I've never been able to find them.
