Looking through my progress pics...

I saw some pics from July 10 where my bangs were about halfway between my nose and my top lip when pulled down and wet. I then compared that to some pics I've just taken. My hair's dry right now, and I didn't pull the bangs down for the pics - my bangs are longer like this than they were on the July 10 wet, pulled down pics. I couldn't help smiling. Now that I compare these recent pics with the ones from a couple of months ago, the difference is astonishing. It's becoming more and more of a mane every day! Does anyone ever do that, just compare how your hair is now to how it used to be and be amazed at the difference? =o I've decided that I like my overall appearance a LOT more now; when I first started growing, I was having doubts. I guess the moral of this story is: keep growing and don't give in to your doubts; you'll probably be very pleased later! But I suppose that applies to a lot more than just hair. =]

Nope, never have. I've analyzed it whenever I've just washed it and am in the process of styling it (of course, with hair as long as mine, there's really no other practical style besides parting it straight down the middle - hehehehe), but I've never maintained a photo album showing the progress of my hair growth.

This is what I've been trying to say for months! The bangs are a great way to observe your hair growth progress because, obviously due to the fact that bangs are in the front of our faces, it is easier to see and watch how our hair lengthens from month to month.

There was a period of several months during which my hair was getting past that "awkward" stage where it refused to do anything at all. I came up with what I felt was an ingeneous way to "force" it to behave until it was long enough to remain in place under its own weight:
I slicked all of it straight back with water, and doused it with enough hair spray to start a small bon fire. My hair literally felt like straw by the time it had hardened.
My friends insisted on calling me "Data" (a reference to the android from Star Trek the Next Generation) until I came to my senses and began wearing it down again.
Suffice it to say, I stuck with it and am very pleased with the result. And I don't mind saying I love how I look with long hair.
