Ponytail problems

I have been growing my hair for about 15 months now from a buzz cut. It is now about 7 inches long,I think,I haven't actually measured it but anyway. I can get most of it in a ponytail now,but the problem is the ponytail looks awful,it points in all directions and is all poofed out. If I don't wash it for a couple of days it doesn't look as bad,but by then it's time to wash it again and ofcourse it looks awful again. Anyone else have this problem? What do you do about it?
By the way my hair is pretty thick and kinda poofy, especially the day I wash it and the day after.
what i do

*WASH with a shampoo that is made for perm or color-treated hair..
or use Auusie Moist shampoo...what ever...and don't make lots
of suds. RINSE out...
*Work some PHYSIQUE Deep Hydrating CONDITIONER throughout hair...
while gently massaging scalp.
*Then I add AUSSIE MOIST CONDITION on TOP of that and work it through. Massage scalp again.
*Leave it on for several minutes.
* Rinse conditioners out thoroughly...
* If hair is really bad, I usually add SecretWeapon (avacado oil in it)...about 1 inch worth and work it into hair.
* Then add about 1 tablespoon of Melting Gel by L'oreal...work through hair.
*STYLE
*LEAVE IT ALONE as much as possible all day long.
~*RESULTS*~
Well, if yout hair is like mine, it will look natural [no kidding!]...
and hang nicely without curling, going wild...
...say 'goodbye' to Mr. Scarecrow and
'hello' to Tarzan's brother or to
Hercules himself...Lol...
BUT it works for me...for now...but this will change as the length
changes...
Good luck then!
