that's what i DON'T understand

wHEN guys talkabout 'caving' 'giving in'
'thank God, I waited 2 weeks' etc.
I KNOW we need encouragement (I needed it too at one time)
but I never thought about GOING BACK on my decision...
IF you KNOW you want (for sure) LONG HAIR
then you shouldn't doubt it or let any buddy change youtr mind.
IF you have LOTS of doubts & often...then maybe,,just maybe...
you don't truly want it cause some guys on here HAVE BAILED
out with NO regrets..
What do YOU think of all this??? hmmmm???

I think you are 100% correct! Either you do want Long Hair or you don't. And, there will be complete "carry-through" no matter what to reach your goal. Those that "teeder" this way and that cannot really want Long Hair. Simple as that.
encouragement helps...

... but shouldn't be necessary. i do agree with what you posted- one's style, hair, clothing, etc is a personal choice and no one but the individual should choose. if one really NEEDS encouragement in order to continue growing then they're going to cut eventually... save everyone the bother and just cut and be done with it

Ah, I must've missed the point of the original post. hehehe
Yes, I'm inclined to agree with that. It's akin to trying to help a drug addict overcome their addiction. In the end, it's up to them to win the battle.
interesting analogy

shouldn't be necessary...
NOT talking about those who truly WANT to because...
of course, I'd like to help them onboard...he..he...'on Board'...
Anyway, maybe that's the most difficult part...KNOWING for SURE
that you want to be a longhair in the FIRST place (not winning
first place, necessarily....te..he....sorry)
To me it's that FIRST decision that is most difficult...
...and some guys JUST DON'T KNOW until there in it...
...I was going to say 'up to there waist' but then i should
have said 'down to their waist'
ha..but most give up looooong before then.

I disagree. There are varying degrees of lengths for long hair, and it doesn't take very long to grow even the shortest variety. Granted, it takes a good deal of dedication, percervierence(spelling?), and patience to grow... say... waist-length hair, but men should not be accused of not really wanting long hair if they keep cutting it.
This site's ultimate purpose is to provide support and encouragement for men wanting to grow long hair. It should not be used as a forum through which to judge those who continue having their's cut, regardless of their reasons.
Unfortunately, all we can do is provide support and encouragement. It's up to the individual who's growing it to make the actual committment, and overcome the hurdles associated with growing long hair. If they can't, well, then, they have the rest of their lives to continue fighting the good fight, should they choose to do so. Growing long hair is no easy task. Let's give those striving to "join the club" every chance they need to do so.

Because if you're blind and drive, you are very soon going to be needing lots of money. (grin)
Seriously, the braille is there for longhairs in convertibles. When they stop at the bank, the wind stops, and their hair falls in their face.
