I recently cut my hair from long to a mohawk. I love it!! Anyways my hair has been growing fast in my mohawk stage. I was wondering if I should grow my mohawk long or keep it short? I really want to grow my hawk atleast 12 inches. SHould I go with the procedure with a 12 inch long mohawk?

well, bear in mind, this was back when i hair was short and i had to have it (relatively)short for school, but i styled it carefully and was able to push it close to 12" by the summer. but the point is, for anyone that is growing there hair out now, i would advise strongly against this. it was pretty brutal to my hair. it's just that i had to cut it anyway.
anyway . . . i just had rows of spikes. i would just section off a segment of the row(about an inch maybe) and ran it through my hands a few times straight up to make sure it was all facing up, and then put in elmers "glue-all", the white school glue. i held it up with one arm, got some glue with the other hand, rubbed it in, sort of pulling upward from the base and running it through, alternating hands, then hold again with one, get glue with the other, repeat, until it's pretty saturated. then i would hold it in place, snug and straigt up, and dry it with a hair dryer. it must stay in place and straight up; don't let it go down or sag. if you do, then it will be hard to get it to stay in place later. your arm might ache, but keep it in place until it is quite dry. you should make sure you are able to lean your arm against something to rest it, as this is a really really really really long time to hold your arm up in the air without moving. it could take under a minute to dry, but if you want to make sure, you could do two minutes to make sure. sometimes they change after a few hours or even a day. but if it goes a day or two and its still good, it should stay in pretty well until you wash it out.
by the way, the only sane way(in my opinion) to get it out is to just get a warm bath and put your head under and let it soak, and slowly kind of pull it apart. that takes a while too, you have to have patience. of course, that is a lot more relaxing than putting it in.
by the way everyone else, i think this is on topic.
anyway, though, if you plan on growing your hair long, for sure don't do this; it has got to be totally evil to your hair. i won't ever do it again, now that i no longer have to have hair under a foot ever again.

Steve Yes let it grow as long as you can it will be great just like being undercut but keep the sides and back up real high and shaved all round the long top will fall every where or you could gel it into position enough gel and you may be able to comb it right up high and trim the top letknow what you do malcolm
