How many users here are from the UK?

Hi there. I've been reading this board for about a year now and made several posts but I get the impression that most people here are of American origin. I'd just be interested to find out how many people here are of UK origin.
I have read much about the 'Buzz cut' being the in thing at the moment but in the United Kingdom there seems to be a growing number of people who are acquiring longer styles. There were quite a lot of buzz cuts over here about five years ago but there seem to be fewer of them now, and a lot of clothes catalogues have male models with longer hairstyles. I think that long hair is possibly more acceptable in the UK, maybe because it's Europe? (I'm not really sure but if anyone else has any views on this I'd be interested to hear them).
I see a lot of people in the city (I live near Birmingham and study there) in suits going to work in a morning who have ponytails. I even saw somebody one day all dressed up smart in a suit who had a green strak in his (long) hair... good for him!
I will also take this opportunity to thank the programmer/maintainer of this message board for providing this resource. I have learnt much about other people who like their hair long, and I have learnt that many people have identical feelings and beliefs to what I have.
Happy hair growing!

Nottingham here.
I've also noticed, that there seems to be reasonable amounts of longhairs around. I don't see too many "buzzcuts", however i think short hair gelled to be semi-spikey, is as common now as it was a couple of years ago when it seemed to be everywhere. I don't think longhair is any less common than it's ever been in the 90s, however medium-length(around ears) styles seem to be what have died out over the past few years.
I get the impression that the buzzcut style has been common in the US throughout the 90s, whereas from my memory, medium-length styles seemed to be "in" here in the UK, during the middle of that decade(when Britpop was at it's height, etc).

I don't live in the UK, but I watch the BBC a lot. (Well, the BBCA anyway.) Father Ted is the greatest show ever. I envy you, which is why I frequently adopt an english accent whenever I have to talk to people I don't know.
And since we're on the topic of the UK, anyone know of a place I might be able to purchase a Mini in the US? I'm not sure if they're still in production, but I think it'd be awesome to see a guy at 6'3" tall getting out of a Mini.

The old minis were discontinued for safety reasons. Now you can get mini Coopers. The popularity of these cars seems to be rapidly on the increase at the moment.

I'm from Co. Donegal, Ireland. Rural buzz-cut central unfortunately. Have support from a couple of friends but everyone else is offering to pay to have my hair cut. Currently on €100, but I can see it growing. Unfortunately for them, I can also see my hair growing :-)

Hi - Laurence from Harrogate in North Yorkshire !

Agree with you - suits and ponytails don't seem to be an issue for employers in England.
: Happy hair growing!
Thank you - happier with each passing day !!

I've just got back from visiting Manchester for four days and I've never been stared at by so many people in my life! Not the friendliest city towards longhairs, I have to say.

I'm from UK. I've said before on here that there seem to be more and more men growing their hair here. Lots about the same length as mine, say 12-18 month's growth. Buzzcuts and shaved heads seem to be declining.
Cheers, Barry

I'm in Bristol, UK. I think, generally we get a better deal than people in the US. Although the Sex Descrimination (1975) Act doesn't cover male longhairs, judgements made under it give us some protection. Also, the Human Rights (1998) Act now makes such descrimination even harder to get away with.
Most folk either like my hair long or couldn't give a damn either way...;-)
Those that complain get short shrift.
I go into a bit more detail on my website:
