ONLY 2 MONTHS!

I was rather amazed at the results of my last 2 months of hair growth. WoW! It DOES make a big difference when you can see now what you actually looked like then.
On Dec. 17th I was "hired" to accompany (as a Pianist) at a local school their "Winter Concert." Videos were just released yesterday, and since I have never taken "Progress Pictures" of myself, nor had a haircut for 7 months, this was the first opportunity for me to see myself but a mere 2 months ago. Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!! What a difference. I just couldn't believe what only 2 months has done. Hair now past my eyes. (But not then.) Ears completely obscured. (But not then.) Back length now touching shoulders. (But not back then.) AND, it looks GREAT the longer it gets. Now that I look at that video,it is a very happy experience to actually see the progress that has been made since.
I was never one to waiver: "should I cut or not." And now that I see the difference I can't wait for it to reach my waist. But in the meantime, and perhaps being lucky enought to have straight hair, the "awkward stage" for me has been most enjoyable and fun!
Highly recommended to you guys out there: have "progress pics" of yourself. When you see the difference, you'll most likely be "climbing the walls" with happiness and almost a kind of disbelief.
One other thing: I have always heard that "Longhair" makes one look old. Ha ha ha ha ha! It is almost as if my "mane" has taken me back to a much more youthful look. Short hair I do believe bodes for the "Aged-look" in so many cases.
Good luck to all of you!
2 MONTHS! all true!

I agree, longhair CAN make a person look younger...
and even if it doesn't...at least it will let other's know that
you are young at heart and in spirit.
You are blessed with straighter hair than most so your 'awkward phase'
may indeed be more pleasant for you...
Enjoy!
Good Luck, too!

Thanks so much. Though my hair is straight, it is presently doing some "wisping" in the back. But I really like this. Really neat looking, at least to me. Weight will straighten it out in time, but meanwhile this present "look" is rather cool. (Kind of wild.) Fun!
Only my opinion, but the "aged" thing of which I spoke refers to the "Mowed-down" hair trendy look of most guys. Yikes! Even the young, (8-19) with this present fashion-trend actually look in some cases like ex-cons,Boot Training Camp Recruits, Cancer Victims, downright tough and ugly or sometimes even quite unhealthy. Alas, they may have the nicest facial features.............all ruined by absence of hair. (Could it be that "Curly" of the 3 Stooges is their idol?) I know the girls seem to like.......or so everyone thinks........but they hardly have a choice at anything else. Ever notice however how the girls act around a "longhair?" (Not a "your not in style" thing to them. Well, ea. to their own. All the above only my thoughts.

That's the amazing thing... since most of us look in a mirror on a daily basis the growth just doesn't register in our heads. I've even thought that my hair had stopped growing before - it's the progress pictures that give you a sense of perspective, along with the milestones. The latest one for me is trapping my hair under my arm by mistake...
Good to hear you're determined, Justin!

Thanks so much. You couldn't be more on target...........it "doesn't" register on a daily basis. But the surprise was great! I will be VERY HAPPY when the day comes that I can "trap my hair under my arm by mistake." My best to you as always.

What I’ve been doing since I started growing my hair back in June 02 is to get a measurement of my hair every 15th of the month and writing it up into an Excel spreadsheet. As expected, my hair is growing at a rate of ½ inch per month.
BTW my longer hair makes me look younger, not older.

Nice to hear it is happening to you also. A really neat experience! (Hope when you're 90 people will mistake you for 50.) Wonder how many other Longhairs on this board have or are experiencing the same "fountain of Youth" look? Would be interesting to know.

I was told when I cut my hair that I looked a lot older.

I know how you feel. :) I take hair progress pictures every middle of the month... It doesn't seem like your hair grows, but the pictures sure don't lie! ;)
By the way, I just took my new pictures. They should be up on my site tomorrow. I'll post here when I'm done uploading them.
