i ned tips for wavey tips :]
Posted by perplexedone on March 09, 2003 at 23:08:57: Previous Next
I've been growing from august, about 7 months now, and notice that the tips are the only parts of my hair that are disobedient, they are very wavey. Hypothetically speaking, if i were to cut the wavey parts of the tips, would it still form a wave at the tips?
any comments or suggestions? thanks in advance

Im at 7 months too, i think if you cut the waves off, initially it will be fine, but the waves will return within a short short while, just don't trim off precious growth to be RIGHT back in the same boat within a few weeks (if not days). Just grit your teeth and be a victim of the awkward stage. I know its tempting, but don't cut. I won;t either. wink. ciao.

My experience is that ends always wind up looking like ends however often you cut them off (in other words, if your ends want to be wavy they'll be wavy whether you cut or not). You may find that the longer your hair gets the better behaved the ends will be as the overall weight of your hair increases. I trimmed regularly the first time I had long hair (1996-2000) and it just prolonged the awkward phase. This time (no cuts since 1 December 2000) my hair has got long much quicker. The ends look a bit uneven and ratty but I'll see to them in another couple of years when I expect my hair will've reached terminal length.

Have patience and when your hair gets longer the wavey ends will disappear (probably from the slight weight or just growing past the place where your genetics tell the hair to curl).

Hi,
it's all down to your follicle ( the part where each hair grows from ), your genes have dictated that you will always have wavey hair no matter how often you trim the tips, when your hair gets to a certain length it will curl. Thousands of hairs together form a curl or wave.
Your could try one of the many "frizz ease " hair products if you want to go down the chemical line or jusy accept it as I have done.
Good luck and keep growing

Blow dry them, its one way to keep the waves down, I also get just the ends evened up that helps to
