This has probably been covered here before, but I am desparate for some tips on accelarating hair growth. Do scalp massages work? I s there a particular herb that might help?
Patience or develop a time machine !

I have no experience of either scalp massages or hair related herbal supplements so I'm talking out of my a*s* a bit here, however, I suspect that neither will be of much use. Even if they do work, they are unlikely to increase the rate of growth significantly or we'd all be doing it ! Hair grows 6" per year (longer if you're lucky, a bit less if you're not)and that's it ! Eat a healthy diet and look after your hair - that's my recommendation.
Patience is one of the key things we have to accept when growing hair. Try not to be disheartened - within a few months you'll have a great head of hair. When I cut off all my hair in December 2000 (regretted immediately) I thought it would take forever to grow back but today I'm almost back to where I was (no cutting or trims) and going for terminal length !
Keep visiting and posting on the board and you'll get all the encouragement you need. Why not post some progress pics ? Good luck !
ah, Patience !

How MANY times did I almost run out of it?!!!
But Time DOES pass...and the hair does get longer...
Then one day you look into the mirror...
and you HAVE ARRIVED!

There are only TWO things that require a long head of hair.
1) Time
2) Patience
I.E. No cutting or trims for at LEAST a year and a half depending on how long you want it. I'm closing in on two years this Summer, and although I don't want terminal growth, my hair almost touches my pecs, heh. Seriously, you won't notice how long your hair is for a good while and it will seem like it's not growing. It is. Just give it time without trims and you'll have godly hair.
And why try to take the short route? The only thing I ever took was Viamins that had Biotin and Zinc.. save for that (which barely equates growth, just helps) there is NOTHING that makes your hair grow. There is no wonder pill or drug, or like L said everyone would be taking it. If you really want long hair, you have to want it from INSIDE to bear through the grueling torture of the awkward stage.
But you *can* do it.

: I've been expermenting with old remedies from the past and one of them is the use of Camphor, I've been using it for several weeks now and I'm experiencing new growth or what they call baby hair and my hair length has grown at least 1" in the past month. Camphor can be found in a products used most often called vicks vapor rub or metholadium. I haven't tried natural Camphor yet but, I'm going to. There is also another remedy from the Indians which I'm also intriged by and thats Yucca Shampoo, which I have just recently found a recipe for making the shampoo. It's said that this thickens the hair causing larger follicles and also produces new hair growth, besides what a friend of mine told me when she used it, it makes the hair hard to cut because it dulls the sissors so, your hair has to be stronger after using it.

Good multivitamins, and a lean high protein diet. Hair is protein, and whether you get the protein from meat or animal it's the same. And steer clear of any hair cuts.
