Got called a poof??

Hi,
I was walking home from university, and this guy drove past and yelled "#$%^&^ poof!"
Does this mean my hair growth is coming along well?
ANdy.

Sounds like you're in the UK or Australia? Am I right in thinking that the slang word 'poof' isn't generally used elsewhere?
Anyway it's definitely a good sign, not for the human race in general, but for your hair. Keep growing! Trying walking anywhere topless in summer with your hair down... that really rattles them.

Like your sense of humor! Glad that you are able to make light of a situation given your recent terrifying personal experience.

Ah, well, it was a week ago today and it's healing nicely. I'll keep enjoying the sun as much as I always have done :)
Nice Hair

Maybe not a poof, but cute, nonetheless. Hope that doesn't offend, but.... Gotta love a guy with gorgeous hair.

The use of the term 'poof' is linguistically interesting.
Yes, it seems to be mainly a UK usage, but also it is written 'poof' in Southern England, and 'puff' (same pronounciation, different spelling) in Northern England.
To get us back on topic, I have never had this shouted at me, but once a lad in a builder's van shouted 'You're having a laugh'. Well, I did find it quite funny, even if it wasn't what he meant!

At least plonkers the world over are consistently stupid. After all - gays usually prefer short hair...

No worries. In the UK "poof" is short for "poofter". It's your basic English homosexual slur. Heh, not that I'm one or anything.. :-)
Cheers.
