fluffy, frizzy hair troubles?

Okay, I'm Joy from TLHS stopping in to say hi. I have had problems with frizz a lot in the past, but not so much anymore. I have a couple of suggestions that may work. Start oiling the length of your hair with jojoba oil, coconut oil, or olive oil, or start using some type of leave-in conditioner. DON'T blowdry your hair...let it air dry. A blowdryer will usually cause heat damage to the hair which results in frizzy, staticky, fly-away hair. If you feel you must use a dryer, then pick up an Ion hair dryer. They dry using negative ions that eliminate static electricity, which causes breakage and frizz. But it's best to just stop blow-drying altogether. I have been letting my hair air dry for about three months now and it is looking much healthier and nicer. You can see the difference in comparing on my website the earlier photos to the newer ones The newest ones are at "Snake Charmer" and "Hair Styles"
Oh, another thing...try to wait longer between shampoos. I only shampoo the length of my hair twice a week now, though I shampoo my bangs and the top of my head every morning due to a greasy scalp. Detergent from the shampoo can cause your hair to dry out too much, especially if you are doing it every day and not conditioning or adding some oil of some kind...AND if you are blowdrying...this is a deadly combination.

Thank you! :) I have been using Ouidad shampoo and balancing rinse for the past year or so...but a couple of weeks ago I decided to give products with silicones a try again. And my hair's condition seems to have improved a lot since I did. I'm now using Pantene Hydrating Curls Shampoo and Pantene Daily Use Conditioner. I haven't posted any new photos of me since I switched though. Maybe I'll update my site this week sometime.
Since you are a guy, and guys seem to not like using conditioner for some reason, maybe you could try one of the Pantene "2 in 1" products (shampoo & conditioner in one). Other products without cones that are pretty good are Herbal Essences or any of the Suave botanicals. But you should definitely condition your hair...not just shampoo it. Shampoo will strip all the natural oils out of the length of your hair. Good luck!

The guys here don't have any problems with conditioning their hair, we stress that they should. LucksKind already conditions (in a recent thread below he mentioned again that he uses Aussie).
I strongly advise against 2-in-1 products because it is an oxymoron of sorts. This comes up every few months and I always ask how a product can strip the dirt and oils from your hair and at the exact same time condition and put the oils back in your hair. No one can provide an answer. It's clever salesmanship by big companies.
