Getting impatient.... !!!

I know, i'm getting impatient.!! lol but i can't help it, my hair has pretty much taken up most of my thoughts recently,not an obsession but not to far away from it...
Anyway my last cut which was a number 2 buzz all over, except for a little bit of my fringe being longer to stick up ! and that was Dec 19th 2002, so that makes it 5 months in 2 weeks time, and now i'm trying to work out if i'm getting a decent rate of growth, at the moment i can pull the longest of my fringe down to eye level, my sides come easily 3/4 way down my ears and the back errm not so easy to tell .!!! i've also grown my sideburns and not shaven them and can just about get most to stay behind my ears, with a little gel ofcourse :¬)
Is this a reasonable rate of growth.? and how long do you guesstimate that it will be before i can get some of it into a tail.??

5 months?!? Don't fret: Your hair probabally won't get any worse than it already is. I predict that things should only get easier as time goes by (Keep in mind, however, that you'll have to get creative once your hair becomes long yet not long enough that you can keep it combed away from your face).

is your hair curly or straight? cuz if its curly you got a long way to go and it doesnt get easier :( not to put you off but 5 months is very far from the end if your a curly hair.

I realise that i'm probably 1 year away from getting my hair into a tail :¬( fortunatly my hair is very straight except for it curling up at the ends at back for some reason.!!

the curling at the back is normal as far as i know. but the best advice i can offer and trust me when i say this, DONT be tempted to cut the back and sides in an attempt to neaten it. as this will just prolong your growing phase and make you last the awkward stage longer...

Heh, chill dude. If you can go 4 more months you should be where I am now and I can say I am starting to like my hair! My bangs (fringe) can go behind my ears now which is such a relief! Just hang in there.. You'll know soon how much growth you're getting. :D
