Don't you ever get fooled by stylists

Back two years ago....Sounds like a long story but it's not ;) I was mistakenly letting my hair grow.I say mistakenly because I was just too lazy to get appointments to have some trims.But one day, it started to look really messy, specially hair on both sides which tended to grow horizontically speaking ;).Since nobody was able to give me some advice about it, I decided to meet the stylist I used to go to. And guess what this dude did to me... He said I'd better get these awful side hair cut really short.So I let him do...Of course it looked nice....the first week! and then it got worse and worse.Since side hair were growing from very short, so horizontically, it made my hair from the top go horizontal aswell...and that's how a stylist blew my first attempt to have long hair.

This was just a way to say that you shouldn't trust any hairstylist, specially the one who used to cut your hair short...They oftenly don't wanna hear about the awkard stage, what makes them act awkardly if I may say ;p

Why do so many dislike stylists?

Why does it seem like so many people here seem to hate, or least not trust, hair stylists? So many guys that post here must have the worst luck in finding quality stylists.
My hair would never be this length if it wasn't for the help and skill of my stylist. If you need to find a good stylist, might I suggest that you ask someone (even a woman) who has nice, long hair who their stylist is? I think recommendations are the way to go.

  Don't get me wrong, I never said that I hated hairstylists, of course we need them to keep our hair healthy...i'm just saying that one should choose his stylist VERY carefully ;p

  Thanks, Mick, I appreciate your giving your stylist his/her due. Don't read those sentiments enough on this board. (signed) a stylist
