Do we want the hair we don't have?

I've heard that people with straight hair want curly hair, and people with curly hair want straight hair. I'm asking the question more specificly. Here is a link to a recent picture taken of my curly hair.

but the hair looks very healthy & nice.
Seems like those flyaway hairs need just a bit of gel...at least
on the surface...to soothe those hairs down into a resting position.
It's getting long too!
Good Luck!

Acually too many fly aways. Try changing conditioner. Doesn't look damaged though.
Great hair type...

I would not consider your hair to be curly. Your hair, in my opinion, is on the medium side of wavey. My hair is somewhat like yours only not quiet as wavey, and in my opinion that is the best looking hair when it's really long because it will be really full. Those of us with thick hair have a rougher go of the awkward stage, but we reap great results when reaching our long length goals. Count yourself lucky to have such a full head of hair, their are other guys on this board struggling with thinning hair and baldness. There are also those struggling with hair that is extremely kinky curly that although it reaches their chin when pulled down tight, it bounces back up to their eyes making it look short when dry and let loose. They are the ones with the roughest and longest awkward stages also. You and I are a lucky few, my friend. Enjoy the blessing, I know I am. Oh, and great hair and progress you have there, by the way. Peace!

I have wavy hair, and have never wanted it to be straight. I agree with Treyn that it is the best type when it gets long, although it does appear to take longer to grow.
A lot of posts on this board are about straightening and a few about making hair wavy, so it looks as though a lot of people aren't satisfied with what they have.

That's actually similar to how my hair looked at that length except mine was much thicker and fluffier. Now my hair's basically straiht.

Yeah, you have great hair. Curly hair always seems thicker. Mine is very straight. My partner's is curly (and down to his waist). We have always wanted each other's hair.
