For most people the awkward stage lasts about 18 months. If your hair is very puffy, it might be as long as 2 years. This is of course if you don't trim. If you trim, then the time in the awkward stage increases. The moral of the story is don't trim and get through it as fast as you can.

Omigosh! Do you give up on everything this easily? Good things take time. At the end of the awkward stage you will actually have accomplished something. Something that most guys don't have the guts or fortitude to do. Besides, the awkward stage isn't all bad. Heck there are always gel and hats to ease it along. And some actually quite enjoy the "wild look". Heck, the next two years are going to pass anyway, you might as well make them mean something.

It depends on your own hair type. What else are you going to do for the next 70 years anyway?

Very good point my man!
You have to understand, it is only time and time flies by very quickly.
