Small prices to pay... !

I read here often where guys are complaining about their hair "sticking them in the eyes" or their hair is "tickling their ears" or the wind is "blowing it in their faces" and so on and so on. These things drive them crazy and their wondering what they should do. Don't get me wrong, these things are irritating and concerning in certain situations, but this is the way I look at it. All these are very small prices to pay for the results once you are out of the awkward irritating phase of hair growth and on to long hair. As I have stated in many posts, patience is a head-of-hairs best friend. Wear a hat or a doo rag, slick it back with gel, whatever. I just let my hair flow free myself and let it do its own thing. You have to decide just how bad you want long hair. What your motives are and such. I feel that long hair is a part of me that has to be accomplished in my life (because I have never really had "long hair") or I feel I have never really been the "me" I personally percieve myself to be. Thanks for putting up with my rambling, just wanted to share! Peace!

Treyn has a very good point here. For those newcomers to the board (or lurkers such as myself) Treyn probably has the best advice. Not a day goes by that I don't want to cut my hair which is currently 6 months strong in the first parts of the akward stage (5 inches or so). If you are thinking about seriously cutting it, give yourself two weeks. Two weeks can't hurt, right? If you still feel that strongly, then maybe being a longhair wasn't in the mix. Just remember, all of us are going through or have gone through these stages as well.
Stick in there and stay metal! \m/

Treyn,
Nice input on the general irritations. Personally I am not sure why others would complain about these types of things, since it is common knowledge of expectations in growing long hair. Like yourself, I let my hair do its thing. These irritations as some would call it are new experiences for me. I cannot call them irritations, maybe after a few years, but I doubt it. Thanks for sharing!

I personally love it when my hair gets in my eyes and tickles my ears. It reminds me that I'm making progress.

Yeah, if you have long hair then you WILL know it's there, that's all part of it. Those who don't want to be bothered by it cut it.
