Celebrity Hair Growth

I don't know if I am the only one that has feelings on this topic or not. It seems to me that celebrity hair grows faster than normal people hair. I know that this isn't true as underneath the glamor celebrities are just people too. However, look into it..
Brad Pitt - currently has shoulder length hair that he has had at least since the beginning of the filming of his new movie Troy (which has been going on for a few months now) as well as at this year's Oscars. Last summer when he had the beard his hair was just barely covering his ears. Recent pics of him and Jennifer are still put on ET with his crew cut.
Johnny Depp - Puts out new movies each year and he seems to alternate between long hair and short hair. I recall that he had shoulder length hair in the movie What's Eating Gilbert Grape (which was 1993) and just a small shag in 1992's Arizona Dream.
All the boybands - it seems like the guys in Backstreet Boys, Nsync, etc. go from short to long overnight. Not that I follow them closely, but I see the groups now and then on tv. I remember watching one of the award shows about two years ago and one of the backstreet boys had hair beyond his shoulders. This was seriously one year after my sister saw them in concert and they all had short haircuts in the pictures.
Am I just going crazy or does anyone else see this as well?

You make an interesting point, and I think I agree with you, for the most part. I've seen plenty of rock stars go from short to long hair (pretty quickly), and yet seldom see any of them struggling through any sort of an awkward stage, unless it's intentionally prologed, like the look that guys like Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), David Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana) have been exhibiting since they shed their long locks.

I think that they just get extensions. And, seeing as how they're loaded, they can afford very realistic looking ones.

There are also hair pieces which work better than extensions and are not damaging to the hair. I have watched on Extra that JoLo (Jennifer Lopez) and other celebrities use these.

You have to realize that "we" are behind them in time. What I mean is that take the year that a movie is "released" and subtract one year from then and this result is when they stopped filming the movie. A movie coming out in 2003 was finished filming in 2002. When they start filming another movie, they have had 1 to 2 years to grow their hair. Even the pictures you see on "E!" are old pictures or footage of the actors. I am sure they also take some vitamins, etc. to help speed the growth process.

I do know that Sam Elliott is famous in Hollywood for how fast his beard grows, so I am assuming his hair grows just as fast.
Speaking of Sam Elliott...

A stranger on the street commented to me that I look like Sam. I was quite flattered!

The thing about celebritys is you dont know whether it is really their hair, or just expensive hair extensions. Remember though that hair grows an average of 6 inches per year, & with straight hair it can look like a lot of growth in a small ammount of time.

It's a simple matter of perception - and your's is skewed.

Another great example that I left out is Orlando Bloom. He literally grew his hair to about 10 inches overnight. It is long in his new movie Pirates of the Carribean and it is not extensions.

I think the celebrities often tell lies--and their hair tells the truth.
Also the truth about when a movie was filmed can be unclear. Maybe filming was done at one location at one time and at another location at another time. It's unclear when movies are made: the time of when it was written, filming started, filming completed, editing started, the first edition completed, movie released in an experimental market, filming done for a revised edition, a revised edition completed, and the time when the movie appears on all the major markets, cable, VHS CD and broadcast TV.
