How to tie up your hair

I'll share what I know, and I hope others will do the same.
1. Pony tail, from midway up the head, or from the bottom.
2. Pony tail, but last time pulling it through, only pull it halfway. Got that from someone here.
3. To really wrap it tight: do pony tail (midway up the head, not at the bottom); tie it two times more lower down; then fold it under itself into an S. Put one hand around it and use the other to put yet another tie over it. (If it's still long enough, fold the result and do the last step again.) To hold it down to the head, smash it down onto the head, and run a bobby pin up and slightly sideways through the hair that's on the head, into the tied hair, and back.
4. Take the hair from the front and top, and tie it up, so that the rest of the hair hangs free but the front hair is out of the face (as That Amish Guy posted recently).
5. 3-strand braided pony tail. I can't make this look neat doing it to myself.
6. 3-strand braided variant of #4.
What's yours?

I just loop my black scrunchie around it a few times, similar to how you wrap a rubberband around a newspaper or something. To secure it, I grab both sides of my ponytail with my thumb and index fingers (two hands) at a point closest to the scrunchie, and separate my tail. Works remarkably well for pushing the scrunchie up further against the base of the skull, resulting in a tice, tight ponytail.
thanx!...
