What to do?

Hi, I've been growing out my hair for ..about 2 months I think, but it started around 3 inches long already. Well, now my bangs are in my eyes. But my problem is the back, here is a sort of illustration of what is going on:

Ok, the +++ are where hair stops growing on the back of my head. The problem is, it is sort of turning into a mullet because I have let the hair grow out from that line (represented by //|\\) Should I cut this? I want all my hair to be one length, so I am wait for the stuff to grow out from the top of my head..
Hope this made sense.

If you want long hair in any reasonable length of time you'll have to put with a certain amount of mulletness. Take a look at my progress pictures. I had quite the defacto mullet going. But I'm hanging in there and in a few more months my bangs/fringe/frontal hairs will be dangling on my shoulders and there will be zero mulletness. The other option is to continuously trim the back. I tried that and found it wasn't for me. It only "cured" the unevenness temporarily and the loss of hair growth was not worth it to me. Everyone is different and this could work for you. Otherwise just bear with it.

It seems you started with the same style as I did (longer on top than bottom) I guess I will just let it all keep on growing.. Thanks.
