split-ender

LOL! Has anyone seen the informercial for the "Split-ender"? It seems like it might work, BUT...the feature where it cuts the 'shorter' hairs seems counter-productive...as it would keep gettin shorter. Anyway, if you have NO idea what i'm talkin about, visit the link below. I MIGHT have ot give one a try once my hair gets longer. Later

I've seen the ad. It looks like a good idea if used in moderation. The thing is, according to the design of the product, it will remove not only split ends but any ends. Also, I'm not so sure it would be effective on side splits.

Take a look at the inventor -- he's got a great name, too: Victor.

Sounded like a good idea until they showed how it worked.
It's better, cheaper and easier to just get a small pair of scissors and trim off the splits while you are sitting around. Contrary to what some think it doesn't take that long, is not difficult and IS quite relaxing.

Yea, my concern was that it would trim ALL ENDS. Is that necessarily a bad thing though? because it claims to ONLY cut like an 1/8 of an inch or some 'diminuitive' amount...not at all a bad idea though. I think once my hair is long enough I won't have to worry about split ends as MUCH as the ladies on the infomercial. Namely because I won't be subjecting my hair to those 'harsh' chemical treatments, dies, bad overall management, etc.
Anyway, if you are bored, feel free to check out my hair "progress" lol. Later!

Looks like horse puckey to me. Besides, I never trust myself with any objects that I can cut my hair with.

I seen the show.I am getting one it seems to be the real deal. My hair is to my butt but very damaged. You know whatthey say you cut your split ends it grows faster. It only takes the tips so it wouldn't make it shorter. Hope this helps.

I saw this commercial when babysitting my niece. It looked very interesting. Most of the times I wait for the projects to come to the store. I've had good luck with the George Foreman Grill, Oxy Clean, etc. But normally do not like to pay shipping and handling fee. And prefer to return the item to the store instead of the mail.
Since my hair is out of control. And I get it trimmed religiously. Tried the best and most expensive conditioners and shampoos I decided to take a chance and order this one on line. However, BIG NOTE HERE I found that the retro Brush of course is not really free. I found out you can order the styler a lot cheaper without the brush. Which makes the shipping and handling cheaper as well. It is always best if you are going to order anything off the internet to keep shopping around.

I stayed up late one night out of pure boredom and lack of sleepiness and saw this infomercial on. It really cought my eye. I'm definitely considering calling this place up and getting my very own. I'll definitely take the advice of someone on here, not to get the revo styling brush or some shit like that. I dont need it neway, just a waste of s&h fee.
I hope to get back to the board and let people know how my adventure went.
My only fear is that propaganda has gotten the best of me, but then again, there is that 30 day thingy where i can just send it back, which, usually with tv offers, is a handy little thing indeed.
My hair also is full of split ends because of the dyes i put in it, and the straightening iron i use. I'm definitely not to the point where i look like some of those girls on the infomercialthough. Another fear of mine is like when you see the girl doing it, its like flattening her hair almost and then they say , "After using the split-ender on her entire head of hair and after a touch of styling..." what the hell is that "touch of styling" bull shit?!?!?
Well, Off to find out if dreams really do come true....

I just saw this infomercial for the first time today and if it works... it is the invention of my dreams! I have been growing my hair for years and it has finally made it down to the middle of my back. I do not die it (anymore) do not style it in anyway except maybe to blow dry it once every so often. Most days I let it air dry. Still I’m having problems with split ends. It was so bad that last month I had a whole inch taken off. But it did not take care of the split ends that are in the middle of the length of my hair. I am always running my fingers in my hair and I twirl my hair around my finger all day long but only on the left side of my head and the right side doesn’t look any different. I also love to let my hair dance in the wind when I'm riding in the car. I don’t want to stop doing the things that I love just to save my hair but also have worked so long to get my hair this long so I don’t want to do more damage than necessary. Does anyone think that the habits I have are causing the split ends or are they just a fact of life?
And more importantly does anyone have the SPLIT-ENDER? And if so does it really work?
And thanks for letting a lady speak. It’s greatly appreciated.
Valerie

I bought one 2 months ago and it's been working great. I'm a little taken back by some of the other responses on the board, but I suppose it's human nature for people to want to criticize and put down something they know very little about before giving it a chance.
There's an old saying "If you can't say something nice please don't say anything at all". And I didn't mean the above in a bad way.

I thought that it was interesting in their own description where it said to try and not go over the same spot more than once or twice as it will just keep cutting the hair shorter. It ain't magic but like a lot of gimicks it may or may not do what you need it to do and there is the potential to seriously wreck some long term growth.
With it just coming out it's best to let others be the testers rather than experimenting with your own long hair. This is why you see the reactions that you commented on.

Alright, kids, so who is trying it and is it working? I guess I'll just have to find out for myself. And JB, sitting around trimming your split ends with a little pair of scissors is not relaxing at all, it gives me a headache, makes me go nearsighted, bleck. If I could get rid of the split ends I would never have to go to the salon again, I've never found a salon I like anyhow. I guess I’ll just give it a whirl… I’ll let you know what I find out. What is every ones favorite deep conditioning treatment?
