Make hair Straight?

I have pretty natural wavy hair with the ends being very curly. I usually wash, conidtion, blow dry for a minute or two, then straighten it with an iron.
While this works good on my long hair(Getting close to middle of back). One thing i like about this method is it makes my hair thinner and less full. I have insanely thick hair naturally so it makes it look alot better. Ironing is ok but i know its bad and it doesn't seem like a great method. From time to time my hair won't stay that straight(Humid days, being outside alot). Especially when i go out(I ride a motorcycle). When i take my helmet off my hair is all in disaray and well on it's way to being wavy again.
Anywho... Are there any products that i could put in my hair to make it straighter?? Like use in combo with the iron to keep it straight even in the worst conditions?
Thanks guys!

My hair is really thick and curly as well (think ringlets) and nearing the middle of my back as well. When I tie my hair back I end up with a really massive curly tail hanging off the back of my head - so I use 4 hair ties along it's length to take care of the mass, this has the added bonus of showing my hair's actual length which is normally obscured by the curls. Instead of going to all the bother of blowdrying/ironing perhaps the multiple hair tie method would work for you, especially when you're riding, it'll keep all your hair nice and neat.
I'm not a biker(just an old school metalhead) and I think that that type of ponytail looks killer hanging down the back of my leather motorcycle jacket (plus the colour contrasts against the black leather really well, my hair is more or less auburn). When I get a chance I'll try and post a picture.

Actually that might work for riding if i'm lazy and don't wanna fix it up with the iron.
Though i really enjoy keeping it down and straight at all times. I'm not too big on the tied back look myself.
Thanks for the input though, love to see pics though!

Try some straightening balm. It protects your hair from heat when styling, and should help keep it straight and not be as affected by humidity. On a really humid day, there's probably no way to really keep it straight.
