They've done it again!!

First I must say that I am gay myself, but I will never watch this show again! The "boys" cut off another beautiful head of long hair tonight on the show for the second or third time since it started. They seem to infer that any guy with longhair is totally unattractive and not socially acceptible.
Thier stereotypical gay antics are a total turn-off for this non-typical longhaired gay boy!
Very Disapointed

I have never seen the show my self, until last night. I saw the promo and the hair. I watched and was very disapointed that they couldn't find a way to change the style not the length. I could tell that the guy George, didn't really like it deep inside, you could see it in his expression, and his body language after. Any time he wasn't being stimulated, or thinking about something, he would get a really depressed look on his face.
Oh well, hopefully he will grow it back. If that is his true self.
I agree

I agree. George did seem very apprehensive about getting his hair chopped off. And I also agree that he did give the impression after the deed was done that he really missed his hair.
If his hair was so dry, as they kept saying it was, why not condition it. If his hair was such a terrible color (it looked great on my TV set), why not color or highlight it - which is what they did to it after they chopped off his beautiful blond braid.
People are always asking WHY do makeover TV shows always chop off long hair. They do it because it sells. Many people "get off" on seeing long hair being cut off . . it's like sex, it sells.
I'd love to see a show where they treat long hair as something to be admired and treated with respect (so to speak). Show the viewing audience how to restore damaged long hair, how to condition long hair, how to style long hair, etc. ARE YOU PAYING ATTENTION MR. TV PRODUCER? YOU'RE MISSING OUT ON A LARGE VIEWING AUDIENCE WHO LOVE LONG HAIR AND SPEND A LOT OF MONEY ON ADVERTISER'S HAIR CARE PRODUCTS.
THINK ABOUT IT.

You have absolutely no way of knowing what he really felt about his haircut. You cannot see "deep inside" him on televison. You are projecting your thoughts and opinions, not really his. I thought he seemed really okay with the haircut....plus he got some cool clothes that seemed to suit his style, his apartment re-done and was provided a cool party for his friends.
What bugged me was they cut his hair into that awkward stage that is so popular now. I felt his hair should have been cut shorter or left a touch longer. (Preferably longer to take emphasis away from his roman nose).
What do you think they should have done with his hair? We cannot really see his hair to know how damaged it was, but it certainly seemed limp and stringy....not sure how much a deep conditioner would have helped him.
See, I like long hair on some men, but everyone always suggests styling options rather than cutting. WHat styling options do guys have without getting too feminine and being even MORE ridiculed and judged? Anything more elaborate than a ponytail or a braid seems to be pushing it.
oh....an another thing

Cry to the tv producers all you want.....we are a minority. Nobody is going to watch a tv show with guys repeatedly getting their hair styled. The long haired minority is a might group, but we have no marketabilty as long hairs what so ever. Our money spends as easily as anyones, but there isn't enough of our money collectively to put a dent in the mind of producers.
Don't let this get you down....it makes us special and alternative. Be proud and take care of your hair.
Maybe someone should tell them

Maybe someone should tell them that they are NOT very creative!
When all they can think of doing to a Longhair's hair is: Chop...CHOP!
I'd like it if somebody would stand up to them and ask: "Can't you
come up with ANOTHER way of 'dealing' with LONG hair???"
Come on guys . . . THINK a bit...Be MORE ORIGINAL & CREATIVE...PLEASE!!!

HELLO.....they haven't just CHOP CHOPPED every guy's hair. Have you not been watching? You are just another long haired guy that is threatened by someone else's make-over and wants to get angry.
Maybe some creative tolerance on your part would help you relax.

You missed the episode where the rocker guy with the thick dark hair (and the idiot girlfriend) just got his long hair shaped and styled?
The fab five have cut two long haired guys hair, and spared one. The two that they cut had thin, fine and badly damaged looking hair that really wasn't attractive.
I am all for long hair on guys (and I am gay, too) if it is healthy and flattering and well taken care of. It can be a very refreshing and sexy look. The subject of last night's episode wasn't any of these things in my opinion. It was bleached within an inch of it's life. Just cause hair is long, does not mean it is beautiful.
This is the first make-over show that seems to NOT get all that scissor happy unless it is going to be a positive outcome. If you cannot watch the show out of protest of a haircut, then don't.
What you need to realize is that no one forces anyone to get a make-over on TV. Weeks of planning goes into making one of these shows and there is plenty of time for someone to change their mind and I am sure that some do. People cut their long hair: nobody dies from it. Some may regret it the next day and some may feel it is the beginning of a new and better part of life.
When folks on this board start freaking out at the make-over show, I have to laugh because I can't help but think that it is because they are afraid. Like there is a giant score board and their team is losing. Better yet, like one of their own has been captured and brainwashed by the enemy.
The first folks to get all bent out of shape about people criticizing their hair are the first to criticize others.
Guys, if you are happy with your hair, then be proud and enjoy it (and please take care of it). Certainly have an opinion about other folks hair, but lighten up! Don't get so serious when someone's opinion doesn't reflect your own. This is basic tolerance.
BRAVO!

i agree. i agree. i absolutley agree!
three episodes thus far featuring guys with long hair...of the three, only one had hair worth keeping and they kept it, after styling it.
the other two had hair that had not been cared for. long hair doesn't necessarily mean beautiful hair.
if you're gonna grow it, PLEASE take care of it.
well said thomas.

I have to disagree with ya, I thought this guy's hair was VERY attractive!! It looked to me to be his natural color, and I thought it suited him very well, as he was sort of the muscular surfer type. Of course this is just my opinion.
I'd also like to see them explore other possibilities besides just cutting it!!!!

hmmmm...maybe he was referring to their decorating style...

I mirror your thoughts and I also will not watch it again. This guy had awesome blond shiny well kept hair and never , not once did anyone suggest or consider keeping it long. Pphhhhfffttttt I emailed the show too and have scratched it from future viewing.

I've got mixed feelings on this one. His hair did look pretty damaged to me. I thought it was making him look bad. But after they cut it off, I realized it wasn't the hair. It was his face. The dude had some huge Steven Tyler-esque lips, and a giant nose. Maybe the guys were thinking the same thing as me when they cut it. Hindsight, y'know. I think he did look a little better w/ short hair, but not the style they left him with. If they'd have known the outcome wouldn't have helped him too much, maybe they could've just left him with what he felt most comfortable with.
Plus, they didn't just rush into it. They gave different reasons as to why they wanted to cut it, such as it was hiding his face. Wait - I think I've just stumbled on the reason he grew it out.
Ahhhhhhhh-ZING!
And that's all I'm fit to spit.

Guess I'm just lucky that I don't have a television in my house. Sounds like a miserable scene to behold. But, the more people that watch the show, the more $$$$$$ it makes...........which is the point of the whole thing for them. Hope the guy that got cropped was paid to be the "reborn model hero" of the broadcast.
