From my experience the more "Liberal minded" women seem to be more inclined to want relationships with guys that have long hair while the more conservative "preppie" chicks prefer guys with short hair.
I am sure there are exceptions with both though.

By the way, anyone see the actress Miranda Otto and the comment she made about how good she thought Vitto Mortenson looked in the interviews on the WB behind the scenes speacial feature on the new Two Towers DVD. She didn't say anything specifically about his long hair but it seemed obvious that was part of it.
And in my opinion, she's a beautiful woman.

Well i have just grown my hair out about a year ago my sophmore year! And i didnt do it just cause girls wanted me to! I did it cause i was sick of the same old crap with it being short and gelled! And cause i was a fan of jamie thomas the skater! But having long hair has sure turned some heads! But if your going to grow your hair out dont do it cause of the girls do it cause you want it!

This is coming from a well educated woman who is ABSOLUTELY NUTS about men with long hair. There is no bigger turn on! When I first met my boyfriend his beautiful hair tressed down to the backs of his knees. Before we became more than friends and during a financial crisis he had no choice but to cut his hair off for a job he needed. Now he is the process of growing it back! I will figure out how to send you one of his previous pics - with long hair that is. This is a picture of us -

In my case I have received mostly good remarks. Plus girls like playing with hair so... To be honest since I have started growing my hair out a LOT more girls have shown "interest".

Most girls follow trends, so they tend to be turned off by long haired men.
However if you get the chance to know them and show off your personality, they might actually like you and skip the hair "question"?
Appearance can work either for or against you.

Short answer - Yes.
Long answer - You bet they do! Since I've grown my hair out I've yet to meet any woman who's told me they don't like it. A number of woman, coworkers, friends, acquaintences, and the like, have all told me how much they like the Longhair look on me. Over the years, it's been over five since I started growing it out, the women I've known have all also said the same thing.
And if you want to talk about a wonderful time, and a great way to be intimate with somone - while still full clothed - then ask her (or him) to brush out your hair. The sensations of having someone else comb your hair out (after you've detangled it first) can be truly awesome.

That makes sense I guess. Certain guys can pull it off and some can't. I would never want to have as much maintainance as a girl or woman with long hair and some guys just look weird with it. But hey, that's my opinion, I could be wrong.

First off, I would say yes and no depending on the person. But a BIG factor has now entered-in to "likes," or rather "choices" I think. What do most women even have to choose from today with an abundance of short hairstyles? Are they suppose to tell most of the guys with "Buzz-Cuts" and Baseball Caps that they don't like? (Quickest way to lose him, and where are they going to find another boy friend?) 30 years ago they "said" they LOVED long hair on guys.....but it was plentiful then. So, in many ways/cases they are forced to take what is available out there or they will have no one. It is rather interesting to note however that ANY TIME a "Longhair" walks by.........heads turn and watch....and no, there doesn't seem to be any ridicule. And EVERY TIME (my observation) that a "Longhair" is present somewhere, he is most always surrounded by 2 or more women. And all seem especially happy too!

We find guys with long hair incredibly sexy. And so do all our female friends. Most girls seem to. Justin is totally right about them usually being surrounded by girls. We saw a beautiful guy with long curly blond hair talking to five girls today, and they all seemed VERY happy ( especially the guy! ) .
In our opinion, nearly all guys look better with long hair. So grow your hair guys and the girls will be falling all over you!!

This question's answer, no matter how you look at it, is that some do and some do not. I have revieved both positive and negative feedback from members of the opposite sex about my hair. However, I do believe that once my hair gets much longer, the compliments will become more abundant.

Girls like guys that are confident in themselves. If you think that your long hair is going to limit your selection in women, it will. If you wear it proudly, and dont ever apologize for who you are women will love you for it.

It does tend to attract the freaks. Clothes are much more influential than hair length, in my opinion.

I think I get more 'looks from' women now that I have long hair. I've had very little negative feedback, though perhaps a lot of people just keep quiet, like if I'd had a psychiatric 'turn' or something! The only exception is my nieces, who absolutely hate it. I think long hair went out of style when band members stopped doing it. You see guys in bands nowadays and they either have short hair or maybe a little long but not like 'hair band' long.

Guys walk about with a few gelled up spikes and a retro top and jeans thinking they are the coolest, handsomest and original(est?) men the world has ever seen while giving out bad vibes to true originality i.e men with long hair and care free attitudes to society. Anyway, thats sort of the same for a lot of women thinking your some sad throw back to the 70's. I now more than ever relise the power women have over mens hair styles. I read comments from men in the 70's who had not yet grown their hair and were laughed at by women and told short hair is out. My dad said in about 1971 he was laughed at by a women in a pub for not having long hair so he promptly grew it long. Just conclude then that I think women dictate mens fashion just as much as their own.

I don't know if you'll ever actually read this, but if you do this typing wasn't a waste of time. Albeit it only took about a minute, minute and a half at the most.

As I've said before, I get more of the right kind of looks from girls since I've grown my hair, even though I'm past the first flush of youth! Nowadays shaved heads and buzzcuts are passe, and rock has returned to replace boybands - long hair is back in fashion. Only problem is - no one, not even Robbie Williams, can grow their hair long overnight. And I seem to remember girls liked guys with long hair in the 70's! Things are looking up!

Asking questions about majorities is nearly impossible. Most often if you gather a group of girls and ask "Do you like long hair on men?" Each and every girl will have her own answer so it's really hard to gage. I mean...if you take my mother and I, we are so incredibly alike it frightens people. My mother well...she despises long hair on men. She thinks it's a complete turn off. Then there is myself, who loves it. my boyfriends hair is nearly as long as mine and mine is 23 inches! It really varies person to person.

Length of hair is what attracts me. It must be at LEAST shoulder length to even get my attention. But, once you have my attention, don't expect that I'll leave....I'm like a stalker! ROFL
