Goodbye to Loreal Vive!

Hey everyone, I have decided that Loreal Vive Smooth Intense line is not for me. It is very disapointing because I heard such rave reviews about it and it didn't do much good to my thick hair at all. I know a lot of you are swearing by this line now but for me, it didn't do much to lay my hair down or smooth out the frizzies, it left some buildup on the FIRST use, it made my head itch and to top it all off the smell is pretty annoying. I am starting to side with Rokker(I believe thats who it was) in saying that there is no miracle shampoo or conditioner. Some just work better than others. I washed my hair with Garnier Fructis today and found much better results than Vive was willing to offer. Weird huh?
Well it just goes to show you that NO one has the same hair type. Even if your hair is EXTREMELY similar to someone elses, the same shamp/conditioner just may not work. But I'm glad to hear it's working so well for everyone else! I just hope I can find something satisfying for me.
I wonder if I can take Vive in and get my money back...
:(
The Magic . . .

The 'Magic' is in the Gel when it comes to 'laying your hair down or smoothing out the frizzies."
Shampoos & conditioners (no matter how good or expensive they are)will usually do little for taming hair and for taking out the 'puffiness.'
As I have said many times before...NO product line is good for everybody!
Thanx for your report and...
Good Luck!

I have been using Aussie for the last four months. I use NO conditioner. My hair has not been better. I have mid back length hair. It is very thick. I have been told on more than one occassion recently by a woman that my hair was healthier than hers--said in schock (I guess that a man could actually have healthy looking long hair!). The thing about Aussie that I really like is no build up at all. This is the claim it made that enticed me to try it, and I have found it to be true. My 16 year old daughter has hair as long and as thick as mine, and she has recently been using Garnier Fructis and seems to like it. Don't know about the build up with it.

i use loreal nutri-vive 2:1 for dry/damaged hair and it works wonders for me. always soft and not much frizz (though i always have to use another product for that). but it does cause build-up for me too, i juse use my brother's cheap brand clarifying shampoo and it's all good. :)
but even though there's nothing wrong with it (for me, that is), i've also decided to try that new garnier line when i've used up what i have left. it seems like it sounds promising, so how bout keeping me updated? ;)

It works fairly well for me, I get no build up and while me hair isn't quite "luxioriously" soft and silky, it leaves it fairly healthy and nice. It's worth a shot. Not miraculous, but I like it better than Vive

Exactly. One size does not fit all in this case. Sorry it didn't work out for you...it can be frustrating trying to find the right products for your hair. :-( But I've heard good things about Garnier as well.
As for the Vive, why not mail it to me? ^_^

I have very curly and thick hair and using loreal vive, has been the best thing I ever did for my hair... My hair is never tangled, it has formes little "curl strands... no frizz, will not as much... plus i use a little loreal melting gel when my hair is still damp (not after it has dried otherwise hair becomes hard), I shampoo once ot twice a week and condition every day... that makes a BIG difference
...yes...MELTing Gel...

...yes...MELTing Gel adds that 'finishing touch'...
I use it as a sort of hair dressing on damp hair...
prevents those dry flyaways quite well!

This stuff is wonderful...I'm only sorry I didn't try it sooner! It's not sticky or gross like all the other gels I've tried. I have no flyaways, which in the past I've only been able to achieve with blowdrying (now a big no-no for me). Very good stuff!
