Dude...your look is great! Long hair is going to fit you perfectly. Don't cut unless you REALLY feel that short hair is what you want.
No, but...

... I have doubted many times passed that I COULD grow it long because of how thick it is. But then, with the great support and advise from this great community of people we call the Men's Long Hair Message Board, I gave it have a chance and realized that it would lay decently the longer it got.
The element that made me doubt that it would ever grow DOWN instead of just STRAIGHT OUT was because the earlier stages of growing my thick hair only produced hair that was sticking STRAIGHT OUT. I figured out that short thick hair has standing room only and that all it COULD do was stand straight up at that early of the growth process. You know, like a spike style on steroids. Therefore in the past, I never attempted trying to grow the top out and only grew the back out. But now I am very glad to see that it is working for me nicely, the same as it is for you. I have never doubted that it was for me because I have a burning desire, and I mean a BURNING desire to have long hair that, once accomplished, will be mine till death do we (my hair and I) part!
Your hair is coming along nicely as far as I can see, and I truly believe that if you cut it for whatever reason, you will be greatly disappointed in the long run and contemplate starting over at some point. I say save yourself the future hassle and wait till you have accomplished long hair and then decide. I would say shoulder blade length. But, all in all, it is your hair and your time and your decision. Good luck, bro! Peace!
Nicely put, Treyn...

And I suppose a person CAN have a change of heart...
Long hair has changed my personality over time...that is, not only
do I feel and look different, but people respond to me differently
than they did before my hair became long...
Some of us have grown out our hair with little trouble and few concerns...
while others (myself included) have gone through a 'Test of Fire'...well sort of.
It was like a salmon swimming upstream...following some natural and
unwritten law...
The course was set and there was no turning back...
But all in all (and most of all) it feels RIGHT (for me)...
I don't want to turn around or go back. . .I like myself as I am...
but sometimes...change is scary...but everything has a price...

I can't believe I'm reading this. I've never seen my own inner truth worded so clearly and openly before, eventhough it took me a long time to finally have it long. Starting with a strict , militaristic father who forbid even one inch of hair length as a kid; to jobs as a young adult in conservative, religious organizations that allowed not much more; I didn't have my first ponytail until my 40th birthday! But where I really learned how much long hair meant to me was when I cut it short (from waist-length) three years ago. It devestated me in a way I never thought possible. The good news is that I not only grew it back IMMEDIATELY (it is now half-way down my back); I also now have a commitment to my long hair that I didn't have before. THANK YOU for sharing your heart so beautifully. And you look AWESOME in your long hair!!!

It's usually more of a passing thought than one I actually spend any time dwelling on, but, yes, every once in a while, I do. It usually crops up when I'm experiencing a particularly bad hair day. However, I've never once given it any serious thought. My lifelong goal is to eventually die as a longhair.
Your hair's looking pretty good. Looks a lot like how mine did when it was that short.

Hey man,
I think we all have doubts. I see a lot hair and yours looks great. Even w/ the crazy dye job you did in the back. Keep up the good work and hang in there. You'll know when it's time for a change, whatever that might be. From what you have shown, you seem to take good care of your hair, which is a plus. Peace dude.

Exactly my story. In fact, didn't I put something up like this a while back, and you told me you were in the same spot?
Anyway, I'm still waiting for a sign to go one way or the other. It's gotten easier, as I can now put my hair into a semi-convincing tail that stays for the most part. But the frizz and thickness, and general look of it all is starting to bug me.
I'm just starting to think that long hair doesn't look good on me. At least not the type I have. Thick and curly is a pretty bad frame for a thin face. I'm starting to look like a lion.
I was seriously considering cutting, but I was putting it off 'til after Halloween, as it's part of my costume. I was telling people about my plans, and most of them didn't seem to support the idea of me cutting my hair. Funny thing is they're the same people who didn't really support me growing my hair in the beginning.
But the biggest support came from a girl in my psychology class. She said she thought it looked good on me. By the way, I've got a huge crush on her, so that kinda pushed me back from the edge.
The only thing is, is none of them have seen me with my hair loose. It's always tied back. I don't really have a problem with wearing it that way, but it makes the short hairs standing up really noticeable. That's the frizz I was talking about earlier.
So I'm pretty much still undecided. I'll give it a little while longer I guess. But ultimately, if I'm not into it, it's gotta go. No matter how many people tell me otherwise.

even though i'm a girl, i've been to the point where i had the scissors in one hand, my braid in the other, and the scissors where startin to slice....
though for you, i'd say you look truley awsome and (i daresay) very attractive like that. when it gets a bit longer, you might not feel so akward about it. i could definitly see you with a little higher than mid-back length hair. keep it growing -please-!

If it helps, I'd have to agree with Salena. I know how you feel, because a lot of the top layer of my hair broke off from the braids I had, so I'm in kind of a quasi-awkward stage; the bottom layer of my hair is fine, but the top frizzes up and if I pull it straight out from my head, it stays that way. But I love long hair so much, and I know that eventually my hair will be long enough so that it won't stick out like that anymore. I just take my Vive Serum and Melting Gel, slap it in my hair, and long for the brighter days to come.
Keep it growing, I don't think you will be disappointed. We'll be here if you ever doubt yourself again!

Some days having long hair is difficult, even frustrating, and you could say I have doubts. But for me the good days vastly outnumber the bad. I can't imagine actually cutting off my hair.

Your hair looks good but you are that awkward stage when it is a bit difficult to manage. I can remember that awkward stage well even though that was 10 years ago for me but I stuck with it and my hair is currently over 3 feet long. Don't give up, be patient. In a year or so your hair will be about 6 inches longer than it is now and the pull of gravity will help to put a stop to those bad hair days.

I my case, I never had doubts........even when my hair looked the worst during the "Awkward Stage." (Stage you're in now.) But, everyone is different, and Long Hair just isn't for everybody. But, it takes so long to grow it out, and mere seconds to reduce it to nothing, and then we read time after time of regrets and growing-out attempts begin all over again. The "Take two weeks and think about it" may find you in a different frame of mind with your thoughts. Sometimes a sudden hasty judgement (if there were to be one) can be avoided using this. Perhaps give yourself 2 weeks to ponder your thoughts and then let us all know if you still feel the same way. Which ever way it goes, most important of all is to "Feel like Yourself." Good luck.

Yep, I've doubted many times. Actually I usually just get tired of dealing with longer hair and cut it off. I haven't cut it (except a couple slight trims) since about May, which is the longest I've gone in a long time.
I agree with others that a rash decision would negate a year and a half of effort.

Everybody has doubts. As long as it remains the norm for guys to have short hair, and as long as there are bad hair days!
Your hair looks good, though.
