Hairstyle for a "dance"

Hey. I am a freshman in college and a co-worker asked me to a homecoming dance at her school. My hair, as you may know, is in the beginning of the Awkward Stage. What are some good hair styles? what should i do? if anything? Also, i have a question about washing hair. I wash my hair about twice a week, but i was wondering what to do on days where i do not wash my hair. Should i get it wet? or should i get a shower cap and keep it dry? when it gets wet without being washed it gets nasty and oily and ughhh. lol, so what should i do for that! Thankz

On my non-wash days, I wake up and see what my hair is doing. Most of the time, it looks and acts exactly I want it to and just run my fingers through and viola! If I have a bad hair day, I wet my hair and viola! Everyone treats their hair differently, because different styles and products go with different hair types and looks one wants to achieve. My advice is for you to spend a night and try different things out and go with what you like the best.
Good luck! and have fun at the dance!

I would say that within a week or two before the dance, start experimenting with different things so you can find the right idea by the night of the dance
