It's got 2 weeks....

...2 weeks before I cut it all off. I doubt any of you will really care that much but I think it is too much to deal with and I would rather not be worried by it.
It just seems like whenever I cut it I regret it, but I don't know what to do if I still end up cutting it every time then it must not be for me.

Sid, you were like me. ALways thinking about your hair when you just start growing it. Don't! :-) Go outside. And most importantly, don't think about your hair or how it looks. I bet you a thousand dollars it looks fine. I would like to see you back here in a few months, or even 6, when you get more substantial growth. Because you gotta find the reasons you wanna grow your hair. Cause if your gonna doubt yourself every other day, your not gonna get far. You said yourself, you always regret it when you cut, so why cut and postpone what you are going to attempt again in 6 more months? Grow it now! But you will end up cutting it if you torture yourself by visiting this board everyday. Just let a few months go by, and you'll be surprised how fast time goes. I probably missed something, so maybe the other guys and gals have something else to say......??
Why?

Why did you decide to grow your hair long to begin with? Nobody does these things arbitrarily. Maybe telling you my reason will help you to find yours.
The best thing I ever did for my hair was to completely stop any use of fancy unhuman products like gels, sprays, and conditioners, and stop chopping it up according to the styles of our nature-phobic society. Of course, going that rout was the best way for me to express myself honestly.
I like MYSELF, without all kinds of artificial modifications--like wearing fancy clothes or chopping up/putting unnatural chemicals in my hair. It's purely human to have long hair with human chemicals in it, and that's why I chose to have my hair the way I do. Short hair originated as a sign of submission, separation from our natural roots, and the loss of a spiritual part of the human body, and for these reasons I refused to keep my hair short anymore.
Because of these reasons, I will always keep my hair as long as it can be. Even IF nobody else I knew liked the way I keep my hair, I would never cut it, because it makes a statement outside of the context of fashion and style, and because I consider it a spiritual part of me, just like my eyes, my arms, or whatnot.
If you want long hair because of fashion, I encourage you find what fashion you want and adhere to it. If you want long hair because you want to impress someone, I suggest you ask what that person wants, then decide what to do accordingly. If you want to grow your hair to make a statement, find what statement you want to make and make your hair talk for you via however you treat it. And if you want to keep your hair because it is a part of you, I suggest you stop chopping it up and putting weird chemicals in it, and let the hair be as it will be.
Finally, if you find that you don't want long hair for any reason at all, don't pain yourself by reasonlessly messing with long hair.
Use these two weeks to see IF you want long hair and WHY.
Hope this helps!
Jesse

I might be thinking of somone else, but wasn't your hair not even very long yet? I went a year and a half before I even concidered cutting an option. Some people just worry to much about their hair. How much do you really have to do to 'deal with' your hair? Maybe it's just not for you but by the sound of things if you keep regretting it when you cut it you should give it more time to grow before cutting again. Because it really does get so much better when it's nice and long.

Have to agree with you there - you're spending way too much time
dwelling on your hair, and it's not even long.
Use the next two weeks to focus on something else, keep a hat
on if you have to, limit your exposure to this 'hyperboard',
don't measure your hair, keep your long term goal in mind.
If you have difficulty now, well, it's not going to get any
easier in the short term! :-)
If things don't work out - no big deal! Cut it and don't look
back. Maybe try again later on in life, that's what I did.
Hey, it's only hair. :-)

Sid,
Dude, just try to chill out about the hair for a while. You're in the awquard stage and that isn't fun for anybody. We've all been through it or are also in it.
Since you do post a lot, it is evident that you do envy long hair and wish you had it. By cutting it after this long, you will regret it within hours. Trust me.
Meanwhile, just try to concentrate on other stuff. (i.e. school, sports, work, etc.) and try not to pay much attention to your hair. Measure only once a month and don't spend all your money exparamenting with new shampoos and devices. Time will pass and your hair will grow. Hair dosen't stop growing, but even if it did, cutting would still be worse.
Best of Luck!
Hey, I care! :-)

Hiya Sid,
If you are worrying a lot about your hair that might just mean the current length is not for you. You have not tried longer lengths yet and those xcould turn out to be easier for you. Since you regretted each cut before, I really see no reason why this one would be any different.
That said, your hair should be something you feel good about. Have you considered wearing a hat more often instead of just wearing it while drying? Am a hat person rather than hair person and what happened in my case was that I was so busy wearing hats with my hair up in them that I had long hair before I even realized it was something I wanted. It is for this reason I find the mindset of "being a longhair" as some sort of qualifier for really having long hair kind of limiting. Don't let anyone convince you that you have to really want it without hesitation to have long hair. It makes it easier to wait through problems that way but it certainly is not the only reason for long hair.
