slowed growth

My friend as well as myself is growing his hair out (his is about a foot long now), and he was talking about how his hair has started growing slower the longer it gets. So we decided to actually measure it per month, and we found out that it's growing at the same rate (as is my hair). We figured out that the longer it is, the slower it appears to grow, due completely to proportion. When you go from a half-inch buzzcut to an inch in a month, dude it's doubled its length! but when it's eight inches and it just adds another half inch a month, it's only adding 1/16 to the length of your hair.
just an interesting observation.

A good point well made!
I was having a similar conversation with a (short haired) friend recently.
He was trying to tell me that hair growth slows down as it gets longer...I told him I believed this to be untrue but he was adamant that he was correct.
I will mention your experiment the next time I see him.
Thanks for the info!
