Mid-length styles

What else can I do with my length? I have been wearing a half tail for the last two days, and I've had a lot of really positive comments. I rarely can wear it down all day, so I'm kind of sick of the standard pony tail, which I find looks very boring. Any suggestions? I tried pigtails, but I didn't really feel comfortable with them.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Apart from the half tail and pony tail I'd say your options are pretty limited with regard to styles that suit a masculine appearance. Your hair looks fantastic loose but maybe you could experiment with some braids or hair gloves.

Why not a braid--or possibly the Native American style of two braids. You have several possibilities with either of these. If you want to be daring just wear them a little higher than most guys and if you really would like to experiment, try a french braid.

I would second the idea of a single braid. I am married and have two daughters who give me help with a braid when I wear one. (Actally, my son likes to get in on the deal too!) It's a different look from the tail or half tail, both of which I wear. I venture out with my hair down only rarely. My hair is mid back, thick and straight with some waves. If it is down, I have to put something in it or it's all over me.
I am soon going to buy one of those silver ponytail cuffs to wear with tail and half tail, just for a different look.
I have tried the two braids, NA style. I wear that at home, but have not ventured out with it, for probably the same reasons you were uncomfortable with the two pigtails. Just didn't feel right.

A variation on the half-tail is to braid the half tail, your hair looks long enough.
Or to vary the ponytail, you could leave the bangs loose, lot of women do this with everything from, updo's to ponytails, to french plaits. It certainly helps "frame the face" and create a different look and I'm pretty sure it won't look feminine. Certainly not on you anyway Dan. ;-)

It occurs to me that if just some of us started wearing pigtails and two braids in public it would start to "feel right". Maybe we need a specific "Guys wear your pigtails" day?

Thanks for the ideas, guys. I'll see if I can get one of my special lady friends to give me some braids.
