How do i start and what after?

I am heavily into metal and have always wanted to grow my hair. i am now going to do this but i was wondering, after i my hair is bushy what do i do? do i let all of it grow? or do i get an undercut and let the part of hair that is left grow? please email me on ur answers and comments. THANK YOU

Not to be rude or anything.. but i think he means what kind of trims or cuts he needs after it grows pretty long.

Dont Undercutt.. Its almost always regretted... dont worry about bushyness, once it get to about 7-8 inches long it'll start to sit more flatt on you head. (mine is pretty bushy at the mo...though its gotten better with more length.)
Grow depending on how short your hair is right now, grow for 10-16 weeks. (The shorter your hair is the less time you grow for.) Then get a maintenance trim. (Explain your goal to the stylist.)
After that, for the 1st year get maintenance trims every 3-4 for months, (you loose about an inch over this time but your hair looks better so you stay with it.) Once your hair reaches a good length, you'll be able to go longer without a trim. Within 2 years you'll have "Long Hair" - There you go the most concise guide on the web.
