ponytail, and type of scissors

Hello all. I have thick, long hair 3 or 4 inches past my shoulders. I just want some info. on the right type of ponytail band. The ones I've tried before seemed to put tension on my hair and the kind that were similar to a rubberband were very hard to get out. So I put it in a tail with a less tight band but then the tail doesnt stay in very well but at least then it is easier to get it out later. What's the best kind of band I can get that will be most effective and will hold my hair well and where can I get it at? Also what's the best kind of trimming scissors to trim split ends and where can I get those at?
Thanks!

Hi
I have been using the narrow bands put out by Scunci. In my case after getting the tail in I double the hoop and put the hair through it again. Holds fine, stays in place and is not overly tight as to cause damage. Sorry, but I don't know about the scissors part of your question. Hope you get your answers.

Scissors designed for cutting hair, or any other sharp scissor works fine, for example scissors meant for cutting fabrics.
As long as it is sharp it's fine. Less sharp scissors will only damage the hair more, causing the end of the strand to be uneven...

The best hair bands for holding your pony are the soft cloth kind and using 2 usually works better than one. For split ends use a small pair of hair cutting scissors. Trim each split end individually. Most split ends involve 1/4 of an inch of hair or less. This takes longer but it is much better than removing an inch or two off all your hair. Absalom

I have found that either "Hair Hosiery" by Schuncii or the regular schrunchies are best. They come in a variety of sizes and colors. There should be some that suit your taste. As far as scissors... um dunno.
