I have heard alot of things on how to make your hair grow faster. From vitamins, which are good for you anyway, though I dont know if they actualy help grow hair faster. It will help your hair to be healthier. To high protean diets. Though I dont know of any of these things making your hair grow faster. A combination of good grooming, vitamins, high protine diet, and at least some moderate exercise every day will help your hair to be stronger and healthier and you end up with less broken stands less fly aways and less split ends. With healthier hair you wont have to cut it as often though unless I am mistaken dosent hair only grow about a half an inch a month? I do however know a gall who's hair grows half an inch in the summer months and an inch in the winter months though that is rare.

Everything you've heard is a myth. It is impossible to grow hair faster.
not true

it is true your hair growth rate is PREDETERMINED
but say your getting horrible nutrition, drink 5 Cokes a day, dont shower or get outdoors - then your predetermined rate will suffer because of malnutrition
so not only will cleaning up your act get your hair growth back to normal, but also make you healthier overall

Your point is valid, but my response was in reference to the myth that there's anything one can do, in addition to maintaining good health, to make their hair grow faster.

in response to the whole "clean" thing, actually i was reading the other day that dirtier hair should grow quicker than clean hair, because it mantains all the natural oils which are emitted or something like that.

Ewwww if thats how you live it wont matter if your hair grows, because you would stink, your teath would be rotted black, and no one would want to play with you.

John is wrong, taking all the right vitamins WILL help your hair grow faster. But unless you suffer from vitamin defficiency you probably won't notice it.
The hair does have a genetically programmed growth rate, but unless you eat just the right amount of every single vitamin, mineral and amino acids good for the hair each day, you won't reach it. The general growth rate for a person is about 1cm per month. Eating the basic vitamins and right amounts might help you increase that right, but that is usually not noticeable (only a few milimeters per month).
The hair grows slower in the winter time than on the summer, in winter it's as mentioned about 1cm per month, while on the summer the approx rate is about 1,5 cm/month (usually the same rate for me though) because of the vitamins received by the sun. At least this is what I've read on most sites explaining this, for me it's pretty much consistant at 1cm/month.
Reaching the optimum rate you will need to eat the right amounts of every single vitamin, mineral and especially amino acids... The standard vitamins will give your hair the basics, for it to stay healthy, strong and grow at it's standard rate.
There ARE vitamin packs to help the hair reach the OPTIMUM rate... Containing all the amino acids needed for this, but they are usually quite expensive (around $50/month) and you take about 8 tablets each day.

"The hair does have a genetically programmed growth rate"
Thats true and in my opinion nothing will make it grow faster. Also the max length of the hair can be very different too, a single hair can only grow 5 years and falls out but it can be also 10 years and longer. This will make your hair look thicker or thinner depents on the length you have your hair.

A LOT of mistakes are in your passage. I edited it...
I have heard a lot of things about how to make your hair grow faster, from vitamins (which are good for you anyway, though I don't know if they actually help grow hair faster; it will help your hair to be healthier though), to high protein diets (though I don't know if any of these things making your hair grow faster). A combination of good grooming, vitamins, a high protein diet, and at least some moderate exercise every day will help your hair to be stronger and healthier and you will end up with fewer broken stands, fewer fly-aways, and fewer split ends. With healthier hair you won't have to cut it as often, though unless I am mistaken, doesn't hair only grow about a half an inch a month? I do however know a gal whose hair grows half an inch in the summer months and an inch in the winter months though that is rare.
