Thanks to hair religion for the advice. But in sikh religion it is stricty prohibited of cutting hair and if you cut it you have to cut the entire length.i am growing my hair from my birth and today it is excatly six inches below my knees and the total length is 66 inches.
My father also has long hair and his length is 48 inches. for your information i dont take a pillow when i sleep because my bun serves that purpose. will you be kind enoughto send me some pictures of your hair (preferably hair falling on your back and your hair tied in bun) and how long is your hairand how do you maintain it.

Great Indrajeet, I've been trying to explain the Sikh religion's requirement that men not cut their hair based upon my limited knowledge of Sikhism.
I'll let you explain it from now on.

My website has info about my hair and whatever pics I care to have out there. I don't wear a bun, don't really like the look for myself and I prefer to always wear it down (reduces longterm damage from pulling when bound up in different kinds of styles).
I am curious about how detailed the requirements are for long hair that is required by a religion.
We've established that you cannot trim it without cutting it all (this begs the question, why?)
If you get a knot or other damage (gum for instance) in your hair and find it necessary to cut it out, are you not allowed to do that or must you cut it all off...and why.
If your hair type is not like many of the other Sikh's (extremely fine/breakable, extremely curly/unmanageable) and successfully growing it long without maintence is not possible how is one instructed to handle that?
I guess I am wondering if, with this general requirement of growing hair long, there is also a well thought out detailed list of instructions that also take into account the information needed to go along with having long hair. On this board these are things that we find are not only useful but, more often than not, necessary.
