Drugstore vs Salon

I've been using cheap drugstore products for some time, and I find they just don't do that great a job for me. But I am so reluctant to but the more expensive products, because I just dont have the money to experiment around and be wrong. Do you guys think that the expenise stuff is worth it? Does it really make that much of a difference to you guys? And I have used things like Aussie and Loreal Vive, and they just didnt do the trick. Just curious if I should give dishing out some $$$ a try. Thanks

sid,
i have found that i can use an inexpensive shampoo and be fine (something like pantene). but when it comes to conditioners and other styling products, the salon brands are better.
for leave-in conditioners, i am currently using either american crew or avevda. for styling products, i use nothing but aveda products...i've tried many others, but for me and my hair, you just can't do better than aveda products. i am NOT saying other products aren't good, i'm just saying these work for me.

I came to that same conclusion recently, regarding shampoos. There
doesn't seem to be that much difference in shampoos, but it's the
stuff you use after that makes the biggest difference.
I haven't tried the salon brands yet as the off-the-shelf conditioners
seem to be OK so far.

Use salon products. You get a lot more for your money. Drugstore products are all watered down. If you shop at a place called Ulta you can save a bundle on salon products. Also those salon product stores in malls are cheap too. Salons make their extra money by selling products so, yeah, they're more expensive there. But I have to tell you my hair is looking great and it's because I use salon products only. You get what you pay for dude. JOSH
