My personal only solution to itchy scalp is to shampoo more. I shampoo about twice a week or three times every two weeks. If it itches more, I shampoo more. Other than that, make sure you wrince your scalp really well before you get out of the shower. Masage it like when you are shampooing it to make sure you get any residual shampoo or conditioner off the scalp.

There are special shampoos designed to relieve this, though if the itchyness is severe you should consult a doctor.
Shampoos to alieviate itchy scalps include: T-Gel, and also for more severe cases Nizarol (sp) which is a medicated shampoo used to combate dandruff and scalp irritations.

Give Nizoral a shot...it's a little pricey, but you'll get results after one wash!

Here is a simple possibility. Do you get conditioner on your scalp, also? This can lead to build-up and itching. Put conditioner on the length of your hair only, keep it off your scalp. And/or, increase shampooing to twice/week. Just a thought. One or both of these simple steps could save you from having to use the harsher scalp therapy or dandruff shampoos.
