Curly head!

Getting into this posting thing!
Like I said the other day, I'm into month 4/5 of my experiment. The back of my head resembles a gorillas arm pit whilst the top is pretty straight. Should I get a trim and lose the curls? My hair is really really thick. I'd deff leave the top as its nowhere long enough yet.
Last time I had long hair I grew it a the back first like some kind of fool and ended up looking like a King Charles Spanial with curls around my neck. I dont want to end up looking like that again!
Cut the back or not? thats the question.
Cutting will not help anything........

Cutting the back is NOT going to get rid of the curls, they will only grow back and you will have longer hair on top of the curls when they come back. This in effect will only make your hair bushier. Like I tell everyone, let your hair grow and in the long run your hair will fall the way you want it to. Its own weight will gradually relax the curling. Cutting it will only add more problems and you will only be staying in the crap stage longer than if you just leave it alone. This is also got to do with how long you actually want to grow it also. Peace!

No don't cut it, least not until its past your shoulders...
I've learnt this one... Its the nape of your neck that causes the curl. Your hair presses against it and gets all scrunched up. Dont trim it you'll just make it take longer.
I was just getting over it this annoying curly phase and I agreed to let my stylist take 1/2 off to reduce the layers I had at the back and whoa - Gorilla's armpit again!
Just another 3 weeks I'll be back right as rain... it'll have the extra length and I'll be back in the clear... fingers crossed!

Thanks for the replys people.
I can cope with the curls its just that I don't want the Spanial look, or worse still the mullet look!

Just be patient, the phase will pass... on the meantime, when you brush your hair... brush the part at the back in the oposite direction to the curl... most of the curl will be a "flip-out" , so as you brush "flip it under" or comb the underside of your hair, this will help train your hair.
