i've been growing my hair for about 5 months now but it is a slow and laborious task! I've seen all these advertisements for vitamin supplements which are supposed to make your hair grow faster but has anyone used them and do they work? I'm not talking about Regaine or stuff that eases baldness, i hgave a full head of hair i want to grow. If no-one knows about the vitamin supplements does anyone have any hints and tips on how to grow my hair faster before i lose heart and get it all cut off!! Any help would be much appreciated, cheers

there are multi-vitamins you can take, but, i don't think its going to make a huge difference. i'm pretty sure they enhance the quality of hair produced not so much the speed it grows. from my experience on this board, nothing will really super charge the speed that your hair grows.
i could be wrong. the best way to help it grow as fast as possible, from my knowledge, is to eat healthy meats and excersise(speed up metabolism) regularly.if you really want long hair you should expect it to take a while to reach your goal. dont be too hasty to cut it all off because I made that same mistake and trust me i regret it every day.learn from me, don't jump into a cut. if you really want to cut it, wait two weeks and if you still want to cut it, then consider it. hope this helped.

Hair growth rate is primarily determined by genetics. Good nutrition may make a slight difference in hair growth rate (at most maybe 10 percent) but there is no magic hair care product that will make your hair grow much faster. My advice is to eat well, get adequate rest, exercise, and above all, be patient. Try not to lose heart, growing a long mane is a long term commitment. It took me over 10 years to grow mine to its current length of over 3 feet. I wish you the best on your journey to having long hair and you will find the people here to be very supportive. Absalom

Some people will tell you its impossible to speed up your growth rate, but thats not true. The fact of the matter is if you want long hair overnight, it aint gonna happen, but if you want the best possible results then biotin is the answer, at least 1000mcg, if youre not currently growing at full speed then this will get you there. Now this isnt a magic vitamin, but its as close as you can get, assuming your hair isnt growing its full speed already. even if it is, it still helps to strengthen it and keeps shedding to a minimum. Also remember to eat enough protien as this is what hair is made up of. And try to be patient, its hard at first, but just keep at it.
