Unless you know exactly what you want.
I'm just ranting i guess but anyways, i mentioned to my mom i might want to clean up the back and sides of my hair while my bangs catch up, so i get home from school and she already has an appointment made for me at 6:15 and she says i have to go cuz she has to pay if i do or dont go. Well i was planning on thinking about it for a while and maybe finding a picture of the style i wanted for now.
Anyways I go there and tell the stylist to just clean up the back and sides and she takes off like an inch all over and thinned pretty much everything and it just kinda sucks, feels like i lost an arm or something ahh.
Moral of the story: Don't just let the stylist do what they want, have a plan before you go!

yes I had an experience like this before too, but the next time I went I was extremely clear on what I wanted done, and to tell the truth it went 'ok' but now that its all about even these trims will be very few and far between :)
Anytime you get a cut....

That holds true anytime you get a haircut. I don't care if it's really short or extremely long. You must communicate with the stylist. If she/he does not know exactly what you want, then you have only yourself to blame.
Show the stylist (using your fingers) what you consider an inch, half inch, quarter of an inch, etc......whatever the amount is you want trimmed. And take pictures if you have a particular style in mind.

Next time, don't mention your thoughts to your Mom. Seems to me she was just looking for an excuse to take you, and you gave her one. Moral of the story, loose lips sink ships.
