I take Biotin supplements and a daily multi-vitamin.
However, vitamins will only make you yourself healthier, and as a result your hair may start growing healthier. It won't affect the hair that is already grown, since the cells are dead, and it probably won't speed up your growth much, that is predetermined by genetics.
Hope this helps

hair growth vitamins aren't worth the money. if they are any help at all then you are deficient in something that can be addressed far more cheaply with food. just eat a balanced diet and get some exercise.

Very few people eat the full amount of vitamins they need. so they are well worth the money. And its cheaper too.

i can't completely agree with this. while it is probably true that many people get enough vitamin nutrition- the better source is foods included in a balanced diet... and not in a vitamin pill, in my opinion anyway. if you are seeing results by taking vitamins then there's likely a deficit in your diet in general that you would be well-advised to correct for better physical health in general. perhaps you find bottles of pills to be more cost-effective in providing nutrition, but i'm not sure the health costs are worth it.

I think Biotin vitamins meant to be excellent for hair growth.

Biotin and Saw Palmetto, taken together works for some.
