We are Stylish!

OK the words "Long Hair" and "Fashion" don't get used together very often in relation to mens hair, but I think this is a little unfair as I'm seeing growing evidence that Long Hair, whilst it may not be "fashionable" its certainly "stylish" and I think more credit should be given to those that wear it.
Look at the effort we have to put in:
How many guys with short hair have to spend 20-30 minutes, washing, conditioning, drying and brushing their hair every day?
Look at the way we break from convention, we express our individualism and are not lead by mainstream opinion. That's how new trends appear...
Look at the amount of time we spend on this board discussing aspects of our appearance. These are not the actions of people who do not care what they look like. We care about our appearance and we care more than most!
Lets face it guys - we make the effort - we care - So how warped is the public perception of longhairs as "untidy hippies who couldn't care less about the way they look?"
Agree? Disagree? Couldn't give a monkies? - Post below

I agree, not only do we have to suffer to get it to the stage we like but we also need to spend a lot of time keeping it nice and styled. (dunno about the brushing part that's the worse thingfor my hair :P )But come on were the year 2004 now so why can't men try look as good as they want to.

I agree with many of you points.
Many, by not all, Longhairs take pride in their hair and
in their appearance, in general.
Right now, I am working toward spending no more than 20 minutes--start to finish--on my hair.
When I do not wash it, I will sometimes just dampen and comb it.
Many people are probably still prejudiced against the very idea of
long hair on a man.
But times have changed, and the length of the hair is less likely associated with
those who do not care about their appearance or state of cleanliness.
Also, a long-haired guy probably pays more attention to what kind
of clothing looks best with his longer hair.
And we are also 'forced' to think about our hair more
because other people make it an 'issue.'
Plus the fact is, if we do not take care of the hair,
there could be lots of damge done that would have to be paid for later!
Good points!

True. I'd like to be able to cut the hassle out of making my hair look good, but the the work pays off when I'm finished styling it usually. :)

The longer my hair gets, the less time I seem to need to spend on it, and the better it looks.
Most days it's just a question of brushing when I get up and before I go to bed, total time = about 5 minutes per day. I just don't identify with "long hair = time consuming".
My twice weekly wash and condition doesn't take any longer either. In fact less time is spent, because I used to have to wash and condition every other day!
