Im not sure if this applies to you but im 18 (lok younger) so i almost always get ID'd when going into a club. Since ive gone for the fashionable stubble look ive never been asked. So my question is really does long hair and facial hair really make you look older?

Actually I think long hair actually has a POSITIVE effect how old you look. That is it makes Teens look older and over 30's look younger.
And thankfully it has a pretty much nil effect for those of us in our 20's.

I started growing a beard in college partly in order to look older. From what people tell me I look younger than I am. I'm 40 now, and people frequently tell me I look to be in my upper 20s or lower 30s, even despite my long, grey beard.
Yes, very much the case

For teens, yes, it genuinely does. When I was shorthaired and cleanshaven at 17, I was frequently told that I looked too young to be in high school. Now at 19, I have shoulder-length hair, a 2 inch gotee, and what I can grow of a full beard, and I appear much older. I've never had a problem passing for 21 at college.

Perhaps more "mature" should be considered here as Society in general won't be thinking of you as some "not quite yet developed kid?" (Only my guess.) Certainly this look will add a type of depth that would not be associated with a 15 year old! Facial hair always seems to create an image of maturity and age.
