Real Long

Hi there I noticed everybody on this website wants their hair very long like down their backs. That's cool but for me that's too long of a process to wait.My goal is to have my hair top and back to reach my chin or just below my chin.Right now I have 4 inches of hair in the back and 2.5 inches on top.I do have curly hair but i do straightened it with a relaxer every two or three months and it comes out completely straight. It helps me see how much hair i really have when it's straight then when it's curly. So my main question is how many inches of hair do i need for the hair to reach my chin or just below?Maybe somebody out there has that lenght and knows how many inches I need? I've been told I need only 8 inches? Also does hair grow a little faster in the summer, how much more? And why does it grow faster? Thanks guys

Measure from where your Bangs are with a ruler to your chin. The number of inches left to go will give you a very good idea when the hair will reach the chin. (1/2" per month growth average.) Now you will know exactly what month you have reached your goal. Good Luck!

I think hair grows faster in the summer because people are more active when it's warm. That increases circulation and your scalp gets more blood flow than it gets during winter months.
I couldn't tell you how much faster it grows, that has everything to do with your individual genetics.

Yeah like justin says the best way to judge how many inches you need is best determined by a tape measure.
But for most people you'll need 8-10 inches to reach your chin, depends on the size of your head.
Grow rates are about 1/2 an inch per month (6 inches a year), most people can improve this by 10-20% with good nutrition and regular exercise but your hair growth rates are largely determined by genetics.

Just wondered how you straighten your hair...what process? Is it done in a salon or have you tried a home product?

I think that most people here have been posting since before the recent shift in men's hairstyles. If you grow really long hair you can't be much concerned about fashion, because it just takes too long to worry about what's in right now. My hair is half way down my back, and has been like that for years, but I'm just so releived that the awful buzzcut style is over. 8 inches is cool if it's what you want. I'm sure it will look great.
I think hair does grow faster in the summer, but I have no idea why?
