How to prevent split ends?...

I know it`s probably been asked numerous amouts of times before...but which methods really work? Any help will be appreciated.

1. Condition your hair when ever you wash.
2. Detangle your hair before brushing
3. Brush carefully
4. Avoid excess Blowdrying or Heat.
Although I've had regular trims I've let my top layers grow uninterupted for nine months until recently. I never found a split end and I always followed the 4 points above. So it worked for me.

5. Silk/satin pillowcases
6. Removing hair bands carefully, instead of ripping them out (as I have caught myself doing lately).
