HairRelgion Posted a RAQ (Repetetively Asked Questions) page on his web site. I guess this is a similiar kinda idea. The main problem with such pages is that the topic we are discussing is largely a matter of opinion and it can require very subjective advice. Its difficult to write anything that applies to Everybody. Or that everyone agrees with.
Anyway, the board is a community, in my opinion part of that community is listening to other peoples circumstances and problems and providing feedback, support and encouragement. I think that's a job for people not FAQ's.

One could post all the reasonable opnions ever givin, it's just I'm rather annoyed by the repetitiveness of the entire thing, it could be the sort of thing where you check before you post and if it answers the question don't post.

Haha... I think you need your Nerconomicon... Then we could have the board by Luna's rules... ;-)
The repetitveness can be annoying, but hey, we were all newbies once...

Thank you! I was thinking the same thing, the topic of making hair grow faster has come up a bunch of times too. But oh well I guess if people didnt ask the same things over and over then the board would be really quiet, lol.

It is an inherent characteristic of boards be it bad or good. I just try to minimize it even a little bit but it's really not going to change , look in the archives under certain topics and you'll see that it's pretty much the same as it has been for years (same questions).
If it bugs you then you have to learn to browse past the repetitive stuff just like you do with spam in your email.
Boards are just kind of limited in some ways.

I've been here for years if no one has noticed, check the archives please. Yes I know, but it's just "What can i do to make my hair grow faster" or "Should I trim now because my hair looks awful I;ve been growing for five monthes" it's just so bloody repetitive

I see that you have been here quite awhile and I had not noticed (or just forgot), I shall remember you in the future (sometimes short names get repetitive too without a face).
I agree with you and so do many others but there isn't anything we can do. At least you haven't gotten criticised for making your thoughts known. I came up with a partial solution and have gotten some flak for it.
If you have any ideas, I for one would like to hear them. I think that you had mentioned another list that would deal with other stuff that my RAQ doesn't. If you work a good one up I'd be willing to host it on my site.

Besides, the info for any comprehensive FAQs, if they are to be worth a darn, comes from posts on the board. :-) That was the source of much of my On Being a Longhair FAQ. However, all FAQs have a unique focus and area of concern. Mine does not get into specific brands of hair care products, for example. That was on purpose. Man, it's long enough as it is. So we benefit from having more than one FAQ. Gollan's recent Bandanna Tying Page is such an example, and one of our oldest FAQ's - Greg Laverne's How to Grow Your Hair Out - is another.
It is unreasonable to expect newcomers to read all our FAQs before posting a question, so yeah, we do see the same questions over and over. They really are not the same questions, though, because they are from different people.

Man, you've got no idea how much that helped me. A big THANKS!!! I went from not knowing anything about haircare to a much more "hair friendly" regime using your advice. And your comments are just inspiring, they really make me want to stick with it.
