Does anyone else have this

I've noticed that when I lift my hair up from over my face, I have tons of hairs that are not that long. Is that just from when hairs fall out and grow back? I've also noticed that where I part my hair (down the center), there is a small area right in front where my forehead meets my scalp that has just the little hairs growing out from it and you can see my scalp kind of. Anyone else experience this? I know I'm not balding because I am 16 and no one in my family has ever gone bald, but is there something I can do to fix this?

yeah i think everyone has the short hairs at the front thing
but my part is also wider at the front - im only 18 - do you pull your hair back (with a hat, or maybe with a towel while drying, or ponytail if its long enough) often?? because i think this might be why its happening to my hair

Nothing to worry about Mark. We all have "little hairs" at all times all over our head. This is just "New-Growth" and is normal. Perhaps just look at it this way: every day we lose x amount of hairs, and every day we gain new ones as they begin their own growth cycle. The ones in front you notice are because they are not burried the same way as are the others in your head and you can see them ever so easily. Good luck to you and great success in growing your hair long.

This has been asked before I think, and its due to the fact there is a gradual transition from the very tiny hairs on your face which you probably dont see unless you go really close to the long hairs on your scalp - When the scalp meets skin on forhead theres a few in between hairs which sometimes have a wierd texture compared to your other hair - its normal. Its the same at the back by your neck only more prominant here. There is nothing that can be done to fix this and nothing needs to be done either.

It's normal. I have a lot of these little hairs. They are especially visible in the dry winter months when they stick straight out of my part. To control them I use either a leave-in conditioner (lighter Infusium 23 or heavier Paul Mitchell 'The Conditioner') or pomade (Alberto 'Smooth & Glisten') depending on my hairstyle. The leave-in conditioner is best when I wear my hair down. The pomade gives me a very slick look on top when I have my hair tightly pulled back. The downside to the pomade is that it is so heavy that after I use it I'm forced to wash my hair before I wear it down again.

More than likely. I've got 'em, too.
Yes, and I feel sorry for them

Yes, everyone has them if they look closely enough, here & there.
Hairs are falling out every day, and NEW hairs are just beginning their long journey.
It's may sound funny, but I sort of feel sorry for those really short ones!
Do women have that too?

I'm the same. I've got tonnes of short hair coming through, I think it's still a leftover from my damaging brushing technique which I stopped about nine months ago. But I know some guys get this more, some less. I've also got the short hairs in front and about an inch on the sides where the hair stays short.
I just wonder if women get this too?

I think Mark is refering to the shorter hairs that surround the face.
I have had these all my life. I hate them. Especially when pulling hair back into french braid.
They fluff around my face. Some people have them and some don't have very many of them.
I have plenty and they are irritating!!! Especially the ones closest to my ears. They poke me in the ear in the middle of the night. Arrgh!!!
Kind of like men and their sideburns. I sometimes have to trim mine around my ears.
Sideburns is another topic I would like to see discussed on this board.
I don't see enough about fancy sideburn trimming on the internet.
I've noticed some very cool sideburn trims on guys with longhair.

Yes even I have those, it freaked me out when I first noticed it, until I realized there are more guys who have them then those that dont. But of course since most guys keep their hair short they never see them because their overall length is the same or shorter then those naturally short ones. And yes even some women have them too.
