Mullets are cool haircuts. They're like a shag and I love shags so the mullet is on the top of my list - so go for it guys with longer hair......

Huh?
Shag: sorta layered all over actual style
Mullet: Hair _short_ in front, not layered. Long in back, with a distinct break in between the two.

A "mullet" is a haircut that is long in the back but not on the top and sides. It is popular among construction workers, country western singers, and others who court the blue collar image.
Some people on this board will dis mullets, but they sure look a lot better than short hair! And they are very practical for a longhair who has a physical or outdoors job where hair in his face all day would be a major nuisance.
Men with mullets are part of our "community" on here. They have the same problems we have growing our hair and they face the same discrimination. Some of them achieve a great look! We should welcome them here.
People who disparage all longhairs seize on the mullet as a way to slur us, and they are surely delighted when they see some of us joining in. The mullet makes an easy target for people who do not identify with that social class. Those who bad-mouth it are the same people who disparage the plumber for showing crack when they've never had a job where they had to bend down in their lives.
I, for one, am growing weary of people on here dissing these longhairs.

Looks like short hair, but the hair is really long in the back!

I guess I have an "extreme mullet" No hair at all on the top, with the sides and back at terminal length.
Should I call it a Horse Shoe Mullet? Or perhaps an MPB Mullet? Hell, I'm tired of refering to it as "The Bald, Gray, keep-the-faith Hippy 'do"
Don't get me wrong, I'll NEVER cut it. I'm every fiber a longhair.

You'd need to cut the sides to be truly mulletized.
And for all those who want to embrace mullets.
I think that most mullets are the ugliest hairstyles I have ever seen.
Typically they look like two hairstyles welded together badly.
This doesn't apply to those that have some sort of actual style where the front is short and somehow blends into the back. I've seen ones that work, but typically, mullets suck ass.
